Filming Continued With The Stunt Double After Jamie Foxx’s Health Emergency
Jamie Foxx was set to make a comeback alongside past co-star Cameron Diaz for their upcoming action movie, Back in Action. However, the Hot Wings artist’s unexpected hospitalization due to medical complications stopped the movie’s production.
The news of his hospitalization made waves on social media after his daughter Corinne posted a statement on Instagram. According to the source, the vocalist’s sudden illness has caused the movie’s producers to scramble, affecting other projects that Foxx is involved in.
Limited information has been made public about his medical emergency, but sources say he was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday morning due to a severe condition that prompted his family members to fly to Atlanta to be with him.
The Day Shift player’s condition remains unknown, and doctors have not yet cleared him to return to filming, indicating that he will remain hospitalized for a few more days.
Director Seth Gordon has reportedly enlisted Travis Parker, Foxx’s stunt double, as a stand-in for some of his scenes with the 50-year-old. Despite these efforts, there have been many problems on set, including bomb scares that temporarily interrupted production.
Foxx’s unexpected hospitalization has also left his fans and the movie industry concerned for his well-being.
Jamie Foxx’s Upcoming Movie Set Was Disrupted By A Bomb Scare
The production of the long-awaited action movie Back In Action, starring A-listers Foxx and Diaz, was put on hold last month after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 performer reportedly had a major meltdown on set, which led to the firing of four crew members.
The movie, which is set to be released on Netflix, was stopped again after the discovery of an unexploded bomb from World War II on the set in East London’s Royal Docks, right before two major stunts were scheduled to be filmed.
Even though one of the stunts was supposed to include a massive explosion, nobody could have anticipated that production would come to a standstill due to a bomb. Experts believe there are at least 100,000 tons of unexploded bombs in waters around the UK. As reported by the media outlet,
“The production expected the scene to go off with a bang — but nobody could have predicted it would all be derailed by a bomb. The stunt was booked to take place last month at the dock. A 24-meter barrier was being erected into the river, where the explosion would take place.”
The shutdown reportedly cost the production hundreds of thousands of British pounds, but safety was the top priority for the film’s producers. They disclosed,
“Safety was the main priority, so after speaking with the police and relevant authorities the whole thing was canceled. Naturally, that part of the river is never normally disturbed, so it’s been left as it is.”
Earlier Foxx was able to convince Diaz to return to acting by promising her that she would have fun. Both celebrities previously collaborated on Annie in 2014 and Any Given Sunday in 1999.
