Jay-Z Declares War Against the Grammys for Insulting Wife Beyoncé
Jay-Z and Beyoncé are one of the most bankable couples in the world of music. The Empire State Of Mind singer is not only a talented rapper, but also an entrepreneur and media proprietor too. Jay-Z comes under the category of most nominated music artist in the history of Grammys. He has been nominated for 83 times and has taken the golden gramophone home 24 times.
Recently, the Hard Rock Life singer blasted the Grammys for not awarding Beyoncé, his wife the Album of the Year. He was present along with his daughter Blue Ivy and and wife Beyoncé during the Grammys.
Jay Z Slammed The Grammys For Never Awarding Beyoncé The Album Of the Year
Reputed American rapper Jay-Z made headlines for criticizing the Grammys. The singer-songwriter expressed his anger and frustration with the organization for not awarding his wife Beyoncé with the Album Of The Year. He was present there to receive the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. During his acceptance speech, Jay-Z called out the Grammys for snubbing Queen Bey.
He said-
“How far we have come with Will Smith, the Fresh Prince winning their first Grammy in ’89 and boycotting because it was not televised,” he said. “And then they went to a hotel to watch the Grammys. I don’t even understand, it was not a great boycott. But then in ’98, I took a page out of their book and was nominated for best rap album. And DMX put out two, they were both number one, and he was not nominated at all. So I boycotted and I watched.”

Jay Z further continued and mentioned that Beyoncé has won the maximum number of Grammys, and could never win the Album Of The Year. He said-
“I’m just saying, we want you all to get it right. We love y’all, we love y’all. We want you to get it right — or at least get it close to right. And obviously, it’s subjective, because it’s music and it’s opinion-based, but some things… I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys never won album of the year. That doesn’t work.”
He concluded his speech with-
“When I get nervous, I tell the truth.”
Beyoncé was last seen during her Renaissance Tour with her daughter Blue Ivy.
Jay Z Praised His Daughter Blue Ivy During The Grammys
Despite making headlines with his acceptance speech during the Grammys, Jay-Z praised his daughter Blue Ivy. The celebrated rapper received the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award and in order to celebrate the achievement, he went onstage with his 12-year-old daughter. During the acceptance speech, Jay-Z had great things to say about his daughter. He said-
“Thank you very much. I used to say it was a sippy cup for Blue, but Blue’s grown up now she doesn’t take sippy cups. And she has her own Grammys.”
This is not the first time Blue Ivy has been publicly involved with her parents. Previously the pre-teen girl had joined her mother onstage during the Rennaissance tour. Beyoncé tied the knot with rapper Jay-Z in April 2008. They are proud parents to their adorable kids Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir. With Jay-Z’s net worth being around $2 billion and Beyoncé’s $600 million- they are one of the richest celebrity couples in Hollywood.
