Jennifer Garner Revealed How She Embraced Her Post-Baby Body Says She Will Always Look Like ‘A Woman Who’s Had Three Babies’
Jennifer Garner is an accomplished actress, producer, and mother of three. And like many women, she has also struggled with body image issues post-pregnancy. After having three children, Garner’s relationship with her body has evolved, and she has become a vocal advocate for body positivity and self-love. She, therefore, advises young moms not to expect the unattainable, and rather embrace their own bodies. The actress confessed that no matter how hard she tries, she will always look like a mother of three, and she is okay with it.
In a Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast interview, Garner revealed her tips and tricks on how she manages to have it all and stay carefree.
Jennifer Garner urges new mothers to love their bodies
Jennifer Garner gave birth to her first daughter in 2005, welcomed her second in 2009, and her third in 2012. Like many new moms, Garner also struggled to adjust to her post-baby body. In a 2014 interview with People, she admitted that she was “still working on” feeling confident in her own skin. There is no doubt that she is one of the most beautiful actresses in the industry, and turns out she too has the same problems to deal with as the rest.
However, over time, Garner has learned to embrace her body and appreciate all that it has done for her. In a 2019 interview with InStyle, she revealed that she has a new appreciation for her body after having children. On her visit to the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, she urged the women to listen to their body and love it no matter what. She exclaimed,
“It carried you this far. It carried babies for you. What else do you want? My goodness.”
She claimed that although many can “bounce right back to that slim-hipped, no stomach,” body after giving birth, it is not the case for the majority of the time. And thus advised them to be grateful.
Jennifer Garner confessed she will never get her body back
Garner confessed that no matter how hard she tried to get her body back, she will never be successful and she is okay with it. She “will still look like a woman who’s had three babies,” even after having a strict beauty and fitness regime. The 13 Going On 30 actress also added that the “bump” really never goes away. And cleared it once and for all. That every time the bump is visible, does not mean she’s pregnant, it simply means she is being a human. She said,
“[it] not pregnant, but I‘ve had three kids and there is a bump.—-From now on, ladies, I will have a bump, and it will be my baby bump. Let‘s just all settle in and get used to it. It’s not going anywhere. Its name is Violet, Sam, and Sera.”
Garner has also spoken out about the unrealistic expectations placed on women’s bodies, especially in the show business. In an interview with The Sun in 2018, she criticized the media’s obsession with “post-baby body” photos and called for a shift in the conversation around women’s bodies. She exclaimed,
“Can we just all agree that it’s ridiculous and not helpful in any way to obsess over bodies after babies?—Let’s move on.”
Therefore, she encouraged all the mothers to be fit as well as urged the people to be more considerate while conversing about a mother’s body. She believes keeping a healthy body and mind is far more important than “looking good”.
