Jeremy Allen White’s ‘The Bear’ Co-star Thanked Meryl Streep For Taylor Swift’s Epic Reaction After Their Golden Globe Win
Ayo Edebiri who stars in comedy-drama series The Bear alongside Jeremy Allen White served as the writer on Big Mouth season four. The actress auditioned to voice the character of Missy on the show after Jenny Slate decided to step down. Slate chose so that a Black actress could voice the character on-screen and Ayo Edebiri was picked as the replacement in 2020.

Jeremy Allen White’s co-star Ayo Edebiri wins over the audience with her Golden Globes 2024 speech
The Bear; created by Christopher Storer starring Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Matty Matheson, Liza Colón-Zayas, and more is one of the most popular series. The show revolves around White who is a young, award-winning chef returning to Chicago to run his late brother’s sandwich shop. The show right from it’s premiere went on to receive positive response from the audience and critics. It has been renewed for season three.
Ayo Edebiri who plays Sydney Adamu on the show has impressed the audience with her performance as a young chef on-screen. The critics recognized her work as she won the Golden Globes 2024 for Best Actress in Comedy Series. While accepting her award she said via THR,
“I’m in a room full of so many people who I admire and whose work has lifted me up. I’m an artist; I’m very lucky to be an artist. I really want to acknowledge that. Everybody out there, that’s my family, I love you guys so much. It’s an honor to work with you and grow alongside you.”
Edebiri didn’t forget to thank her The Bear family including Jeremy Allen White and the ones who make it possible for her to keep having a balanced life;
“The actresses I was nominated alongside also, and also my family, love you guys too. All of my agents and manages, assistants! The people who answer my email. Ya’ll are the real ones. Thank you for answering my crazy, crazy emails.”
Ayo Edebiri was the only one who won but Jeremy Allen White also won the award for Best Actor in Comedy Series for The Bear. Season 2 of the show finished with a 99% rating from the critics and 92% from the audience.

The actress along with her team consisting Jeremy Allen White had appeared for an interview with Access Hollywood where she reacted to Taylor Swift’s reaction to her speech. It was noted that Swift was left impressed by the young actress after she went ahead to thank her assistants during her acceptance speech.
The camera focused on Swift who smiled, clapped, and nodded while mouthing, ‘Oh yeah, yup’, as Ayo Edebiri stood on stage and thanked everyone.
In her conversation with Access Hollywood, she was once again appreciated for mentioning her assistants in her speech. She explained that she has assisted, she has been a PA and she knows what it is like to do a thankless job and she just wanted to thank them.
She was also asked if she noticed Taylor Swift’s reaction to her thanking the assistants. The interviewer let the actress know that Swift’s reaction was like Meryl Streep at the Oscars, to which she said,
“I did not see that.”
Ayo Edebiri then thanked the interviewer for letting her know about the reaction. She also went ahead to say thank you to Taylor Swift and Meryl Streep at the Oscars for starting the whole thing. The young actress beat Rachel Brosnahan, Quinta Brunson, Elle Fanning, Selena Gomez, and Natasha Lyonne to win her first Golden Globe.
