Jeremy Allen White’s ‘The Bear’ Could Easily Turn Itself into a Multi-million Dollar Franchise By Using Actor Edwin Lee Gibson’s One Idea
Jeremy Allen White made his breakthrough in the industry with the Showtime series Shameless, which aired for 11 seasons from 2011 to 2021. He gained widespread recognition as Carmen Berzatto in his 2022 FX series The Bear. The show turned out to be a hit with the critics and audience and won numerous accolades.
The show put a spotlight on everyone involved and actor Edwin Lee Gibson is no different. Recently, he opened up about what he would like to explore in the next season, and the idea could make the show a multi-million dollar franchise.
The Bear Could Turn Into A High-Grossing Franchise With This Spin-off Idea
The Bear follows a young award-winning chef Carmen ‘Carmy’ who returns to Chicago to run his deceased older brother’s Italian sandwich shop. He tries to balance his pain and family trauma and the management of the rundown kitchen, debts his brother left unresolved, and an unruly staff. One of the staff members is a Somali veteran line cook Ebraheim, portrayed by Edwin Lee Gibson.
During the premiere of the show’s third season at El Capitan Theatre, Gibson told Deadline Hollywood that he would like to explore more of Ebraheim’s backstory and how he made his way from East Africa to Chicago.
How he got to Chicago, I mean, to come from East Africa, it’s a huge continent, been across the Atlantic. And to come to the detention that everyone comes to, which is in the Houston Ship Channel, you have to come through there and then you stay. But then how he gets from there to the middle of the country, I’m interested in that.
He also said that he has his “suppositions”. The show has had two successful seasons so far with the third one in tow so exploring spin-offs would establish it into a franchise as fans seem to be interested in knowing more about the other characters.
What To Expect From Jeremy Allen White’s Carmy in The Bear Season 3?
Carmy has been a nuanced character throughout the show. He means well but often ends up offending his staff while trying to get them to do things in a way that is beneficial for the restaurant. One thing that he has been seen struggling with is apologizing for his mistakes.
Post not foundAt the premiere of Season 3, Jeremy Allen White opened up about what the viewers can expect to see when it comes to Carmy (via Deadline).
He never seems to be able to apologize very well. You see Carmy make some similar mistakes this year. When he leaves that walk-in he feels like he let everybody down. He’s filled with a lot of guilty, a lot of shame.
The Iron Claw star went on to say that in this new season, Carmy will be similar to how he was after the episode Review in the first season.
The Bear is available for streaming on Hulu.
