Renner drove a snowplow while his nephew tried to move a pickup truck in their path. While the pickup truck was unstuck, Renner couldn’t spot his nephew and was particularly worried that he would be hit by the snowplow. Renner came out of his snowplow and leaned out of it, which caused him to lose his balance and was pulled under the snowplow as he looked for Alex. When the Wind River actor got crushed he said,

“That’s when I screamed when I went under the thing – ‘not today, motherf*****.’”

Renner’s nephew and the neighbors assisted him until emergency medical workers landed and airlifted him to the hospital. When the 52-year-old actor was asked if he felt the pain after the horrific accident he said,

“It’s exactly like you imagined it would feel … It’s hard to imagine what that feels like… It felt like someone took the wind out of you. Too many things are going on in the body to feel. Pain is everything it’s like if your soul could feel pain.”

The actor admitted that the snowplow accident was his fault and apologized to his family. He claimed it was his fault and that he had paid for it.
