Jim Parsons is undoubtedly one of the most renowned TV actors. When he started his career, it’s hard to believe that he could’ve imagined the kind of success he saw in his career. Parson’s role as Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory was one of the biggest draws of the show. The awkward character was loved by the fans and his comic timing was next to none. As a result, the role ended up making him the highest-paid actor on TV. The character was loved by the fans so much that a new show Young Sheldon, which he joined as an executive producer and a voiceover actor.
How much did Jim Parsons make from The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon?
When Jim Parsons started filming for The Big Bang Theory, his salary was $60,000 per episode according to The Things. During seasons two to four, his pay went up significantly and he earned $250,000 per episode. From seasons five to seven, Parsons’ pay went up again and he earned $350,000 per episode.
The real pay rise was yet to follow and when the show returned from season eight, Parsons made $1.2 million per episode up until the tenth season of the show. While one would assume that he made more money for the final two seasons of the show, that isn’t the case. For the eleventh and twelfth seasons of the show, he made $1 million per episode as he took a pay cut to allow for his female co-stars, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch, who joined the show later on, to make more when negotiating contracts for the final two seasons.
As far as Jim Parsons’ earnings from the show Young Sheldon go, unfortunately for the fans, there is no reliable information on it. However, it’s safe to say that considering the fact that he is the executive producer of the show and also works as a voice actor, he must have earned multi-million dollars since the show started to air in 2017.

The Big Bang Theory did not extend because of Jim Parsons
Considering the success that the show The Big Bang Theory saw, it’s no surprise that the creators of the show wanted to keep the show running. However, it was Jim Parsons who decided not to continue with the show. Interestingly, he even declined a $50 million offer to extend his contract.
There have been multiple reasons suggesting why he left the show, one being his headspace at the time. Parsons’ beloved dog had just passed away, moreover, he wanted to pursue different things in life after committing to the show for so many years.
As a result, when the show’s biggest star decided to leave the show, the producers felt that The Big Bang Theory would not be successful without him and decided to end the show following the completion of season twelve.
