“I’m about to go upstairs and continue writing season 2.”

Another user asked the DCU creative chief if season two’s story would be a canon to the DCU to which he replied by saying, ‘Yes’. James Gunn is currently working on his highly awaited movie Superman: Legacy starring David Corenswet as Superman who is reportedly working hard to transform his body in the best shape to portray the character in the best way especially after the audience has already seen Henry Cavil as Superman. Ahead of the release of season one of Peaceamker, James Gunn spoke to ComicBook.com and described the character as envious, adding that he thinks that the character wants to be in that holy trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman but he is not. Gunn added,

“He wants to be a member of Justice League, and they would never let him into the Justice League. He wishes that people loved him as much as they love Aquaman but they don’t. So he believes anything and kind of picks out what he wants to believe on the Internet.”

The creator of the series also noted that the character is not very well versed on the Internet which is why he ends up believing that whatever he reads online is a fact.

A user shared, “I would have a lot more respect for him if it was a full reboot. The reason I’d prefer a full reboot is because it would’ve been a great opportunity to get everyone equally on board and excited about the future of DC. Gunn just keeping his stuff and getting rid of everything else makes the DCU already seem convoluted.”

Another user commented, “I hope they make Peacemaker the Psycho Pirate of the DCU, where Peacemaker is the only one who does anything about the DCEU. It drives him crazy trying to navigate this new universe he lives in with new continuity. Maybe give a cameo from Ambush Bug, he’s self-aware character.”

A third user hopes for a good season two, with another one noting, “Why still season 2? I think they should promote it with some new name since it’s DCU now.”
