One of Tom Clancy’s most beloved characters is Jack Ryan, played by more than three actors on-screen. However, John Krasinski turned out to be the best CIA hero in Amazon Prime Video’s TV series.

The actor didn’t just play the role of young Jack in Clancy’s military tactic and international subterfuge but also proved his passion and willingness to take challenges while filming. John Krasinski revealed his decision to perform a helicopter stunt, as he was teased by a Navy SEAL. The original plan included the stunt team executing it, but as the actor was highly passionate, he decided to jump from a helicopter by himself.

Stunts and action scenes are the life of Prime Video’s Jack Ryan starring John Krasinski as the young CIA analyst. And to make it even more engaging and thrilling, the actor risked his life after he was teased by a Navy SEAL, advising him to perform the stunt.

Krasinski first appeared in the TV series in 2018, and since then he has played the titular role of Jack Ryan in all four seasons. During his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Something Borrowed star shared that:

“We were in the Black Hawk with all SEALs… As we were flying away [Kevin Kent] said ‘Are you going to do this stunt?’ I said, ‘No, they shot it this morning,’ and he was like, ‘It’d look a lot cooler if you did it.’ I said ‘We didn’t plan for that. I don’t even know what that would look like.”

John Krasinski revealed that while filming the stunt, they were in a Black Hawk helicopter with a Navy SEAL, and it was when the SEAL teased the actor for not performing his own stunt, and instead allowing the team to perform it for him.

The actor then added, “He said, ‘It would look like me grabbing the seat belt, unbuckling you, and throwing you out of the helicopter.” Despite the producers’ unawareness of the unexpected decision and the cameraman’s disapproval, John Krasinski proved to be fearless and jumped out of the helicopter.

Jack Ryan‘s Spinoff Series To Be Focusing on Michael Peña’s Domingo

Soon after Jack Ryan went on his final mission through the final season, reports suggesting Jack Ryan’s spinoff series have been making headlines. The spinoff series will reportedly focus on Michael Peña‘s Domingo “Ding” Chavez. The character has played a significant role in Clancy’s books but has never gathered center stage as a titular hero.

However, Peña gave a mixed response about the spinoff series, during an interview with Collider. The actor was asked if he’ll be helming the leading role in a spinoff series of Jack Ryan, to which he replied:

“I don’t know. It’s up to the fans and up to Amazon. There are a lot of people that have to do certain things, but if people like it, maybe they’ll chime in and say, like, ‘Hey, we want some more!’ So, you know, we leave it in their hands.”

Michael Peña’s comments hint at the uncertainty surrounding the spinoff, and since there have been no official updates from Prime Video about it, fans should wait for a confirmation.

Jack Ryan is streaming on Prime Video.
