Fans have been amazed to witness the life of the Von Erich family outside the world. The director has been incredibly creative with the filming of his project, as he drew inspiration from the wrestling matches. Durki shared that he focused on both the emotion and impact of the fighting scenes while shooting. During an interview with Comic Book, he said:

“When I approached a match, I first and foremost thought about the emotion of the match. What’s the best place for the camera to tell the emotional story Kevin is going through? That was always guiding first, but also I wanted to have a sense of WCCW was the first company using handheld cameras on the side of the mat, so to have a bit of in-ring handheld, and then cut to the very famous TV angle.”

The Influence of World-Class Championship Wrestling has played a vital role in the making of Durkin’s film. The director wanted viewers to experience the emotions inside and outside of the ring, for which he went above and beyond. Durkin shot the scene with distinct angles to balance the intensity of wrestling matches and the emotional journey of the cursed family.

The Iron Claw is in theatres now.
