Johnny Depp Accused of Using ‘Threats and Deception’ To Make Witnesses Lie Under Oath, Forced Them to Sign Pre-Trial Declarations Else Face “Negative Consequences”
Johnny Depp is an American actor and director, most widely known for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in The Pirates of the Caribbean series. He is a very established actor and has won three Oscar Awards. The world-class actor was in the news a lot this year because of the defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard. Now, according to recent sources, it is revealed that Depp allegedly threatened the witnesses to lie under oath.
The Famous Defamation Trial that took the World by Storm
The Professor actor filed a defamation case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, and the trial started on April 11, 2022. The actor claimed that her false acquisitions of him made him lose all his work and good reputation. The case lasted for almost a month and gained comments and statements from all over the world. When the day of the judgment came, the decision was largely in favor of Depp as he was awarded $10.35 million in damages.
Amber Heard too was awarded $2 Million by the court, to be paid by Depp. It was reported right after the trial that she will be appealing the verdict of the trial.

Johnny Depp allegedly threatened Witnesses
According to sources, Johnny Depp made the witnesses lie under oath. It was a tough battle for the 21 Jump Street actor but he won regardless. Now, months after the end of the trial, Laura Divenere has said that she was made to sign pre-trial declarations by Depp and his legal team. She further added that she was threatened with negative consequences if she did not sign the declaration. The witnesses were reportedly even threatened with perjury if they refused to sign the declarations.

These reports were made public by House in Habit and said, “In addition, while the declarations all bore the heading of this case, NONE were ever filed with the Court or provided to counsel for defendant.”
Other than all the court drama, Johnny Depp is all set to appear in Jeanne du Barry which started filming in late July. He will also be directing the movie Modigliani whose production will probably begin in Europe in the spring of 2023.
