In 2018, Amber Heard wrote in a column for the Washington Post claiming that she is a ‘Public Figure representing domestic abuse’. Although it was not explicitly pointed at Johnny Depp, the Willy Wonka actor was the only person the allegations could have been made against. At the time, The Sun called Depp a ‘wife beater’ and this led to the actor filing a libel case against the same.

However, he lost the case, and at that time and he was dropped by Disney to reprise his role as Jack Sparrow. The Tourist actor blamed his ex-wife Heard for causing the loss of one of his biggest and most lucrative roles. The ex-couple’s former agent Christian Carino shared that Disney’s decision was not explicit but it was “understood”.

Later Depp came back with a defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard in 2022. Heard was liable to pay 50 million dollars in damages and Depp ended up winning the case. The result of the case was in favor of the Secret Window actor.

Jack Sparrow Returns Once Again In front of Fan

The actor ended up having his victory in the defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard. The Edward Scissorhands actor went away with a 10.35 million dollars settlement price. But even though he won the defamation case, Johnny Depp is unlikely to return to his role as Jack Sparrow. Disney implicitly dropped him from the franchise when Depp was embroiled in abuse allegations.

The actor is being praised for this generous act to please a fan.

But following his win in the defamation case the actor has started to make a comeback. He is also focusing on his music career along with rebuilding his acting career.
