Johnny Depp is making headlines because of his new love interest Joelle Rich, a lawyer. The actor was recently highlighted due to the highly publicized defamation lawsuit that he won against his former wife Amber Heard. According to the reports surfacing online, his new girlfriend is also connected to the British royal family affairs or most importantly Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex.
Joelle Rich Represented Meghan Markle Against British Tabloid Lawsuit
Johnny Depp’s new beau Joelle Rich according to reports by PageSix was the former attorney of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.
The British lawyer has reportedly represented the former actress in her lawsuit against the British newspaper company, Associated Newspapers, which owns The Daily Mail and Mail.
Back in 2019, the 41-year-old Suits star sued the British tabloid and its parent company for privacy breach and copyright infringement concerning a five-page private letter written by Markle to her estranged father, Thomas Markle.
The Duchess of Sussex won the case in December 2021, with the court deciding that the distribution of the letter breached her privacy and was “unlawful.”
In a statement published after the court’s verdict was announced, Markle shared, “This is a victory not just for me, but for anyone who has ever felt scared to stand up for what’s right.”
The Mail was ordered to pay damages and print a front-page apology to the American member of the British royal family.

Johnny Depp and Joelle Rich are dating! The lawyer was spotted almost every day at Virginia’s Fairfax County Courthouse for the hearing of her beau and Amber Heard’s defamation trial.
She also represented her new beau during his 2020 UK libel case against the Sun. Depp back then had sued, the British newspaper and its executive editor, Dan Wootton, for their 2018 report labeling him a “wife-beater” solely based on his ex-wife’s allegations.
Back in 2018, his ex-wife wrote an op-ed in The Washington Post claiming herself to be a “public figure representing domestic abuse”. He then filed a defamation lawsuit demanding $50 million for tarnishing his reputation. The former won the lawsuit getting $10.35m in damages while Heard was awarded $2m for her counter-claims.
