Jonathan Majors Not Going to be in Secret Wars? New Report Reveals MCU “Moving Away” from Kang
One of the major concerns in the MCU is Jonathan Majors’ Kang’s storyline which is reportedly not going to make its way due to the actor’s legal dispute.
Kang the Conquerer played a significant role in the MCU and was even set for a big movie Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to portray the scene-stealing antagonist. Fans were thrilled with this formidable character but now reports suggest that the writer has abandoned this project and Jonathan Majors might not be able to make it even in the Avengers: Secret Wars which has made the MCU enthusiasts furious.
Marvel Reportedly Abandoning The Kang Storyline
Jonathan Majors‘ Kang the Conqueror became a huge part of the MCU since Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and was positioned as the next big thing in Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki 2. However, since Majors’ legal dispute emerged in this year’s March, his arrest not only affected him but the superhero world leaving his involvement in Avengers: Secret Wars in skepticism.
New reports suggest that Marvel is set to abandon the Kang storyline as writer Jeff Loveness who penned Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and was aligned to write The Kang Dynasty as well is no longer working for Marvel. This decision comes out of Marvel’s reported decision to “moving away” from Majors’ character in the MCU. In the latest episode of the House of R podcast, The Ringer‘s Joanna Robinson said:
“I got it confirmed to me that [Jeff Loveness] was no longer working for Marvel [Studios] and then I asked the person why. And they said that the reason why is that he was all wrapped up in this Kang storyline and they are likely moving away from that.”
Explaining that the Studios is changing their development plans for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Robinson claimed that Loveness departed from Marvel as he was “wrapped up” in crafting the intellectually formidable villain and now that Marvel isn’t too focused on Majors’ character’s arc but on another ultimate enemy.

Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conquerer became quite a famous adversary and was compared with Thanos after all the significance he received from February’s Wasp Quantamania. However, things took a U-turn in Majors’ life after he was accused of domestic violence with his ex-girlfriend who was recently arrested. After reports came out that Marvel seemed to have no plans for Kang, fans were quick to display rage on a post shared by The Hollywood Handle on X.

Doubt it, I think the change came from the writers inability to express Kang properly, they aren’t moving away, there retooling and regrouping. Kang and Doom are both essential the source material there pulling from, stop this nonsense lol

After Jonathan Majors’ controversy, previous reports suggested that the makers are planning to bring another extraordinarily intimidating adversary Dr. Doom to the MCU, but projecting any shift would carry its headaches. The actor’s lawyer claims that he’s innocent and visual records will prove his innocence against the allegation put by Grace Jabbari.
