Warning: this article contains spoilers.
Jujutsu Kaisen is getting a fourth season (via the anime’s official website), and the announcement dropped not long after Season 3 concluded. It’s safe to say the hype has been building ever since.
MAPPA also dropped a trailer that isn’t just a visual with an announcement; there are actual finished scenes from the season in the short clip. So, we can assume that it won’t take long for the season to come. Till then, let’s dive into everything that we know.

When Is Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Releasing?
Unfortunately, there is no official release date yet. MAPPA only confirmed that Season 4 is coming under the title “The Culling Game Part 2.” During that studio’s 15th anniversary event, the announcement shared with fans was simply that the season is “currently in production” (as per the official post on X/Twitter), which is basically studio-speak for “it’s happening, just give us time.”
However, we can still make some educated guesses. Season 1 was released in October 2020, Season 2 in July 2023, and Season 3 in January 2026. That’s nearly a three-year wait between each full season, not two. If we followed that pattern strictly, Season 4 wouldn’t arrive until 2028.
But there’s a good reason to expect it sooner than that. Season 4 isn’t a brand-new season starting from scratch. It’s the second half of the Culling Game arc. On top of that, MAPPA already has a teaser trailer with real animation ready to show, which is usually a sign that production is further along than a project that has only started.
What Will Be the Plot of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4?

Season 3 has already made Jujutsu Kaisen one of the best anime of 2026, but there is still a lot to unpack in the Culling Games. In this season, Sukuna’s plans, which he has been making in the background, will finally be realized. We will also learn what exactly the “bomb” is that Kenjaku is going to drop on the Culling Games. Furthermore, the upcoming installment will feature many new battles and team-ups that are worth waiting for.
For example, Choso and Yuki are going to team up against Kenjaku. Yuji will be teaming up with Maki to fight a really important character teased in the trailer, and best of all, Hakari and Kashimo are going to have an amazing battle. The season itself will probably start with Angel either helping Megumi or being just another enemy that Megumi will have to deal with.
Since the Culling Games are still going on, we may get to see even more characters who haven’t been introduced yet. Furthermore, considering Season 3 (The Culling Game Part 1) covered around 44 chapters, we are expecting the upcoming season to adapt 40 to 50 chapters from Gege Akutami’s manga series.
Is There a Trailer for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4?

Yes, there is officially a trailer out for Season 4. It dropped during MAPPA’s 15th-anniversary Lineup Announcement event, giving fans their very first proper look at the upcoming season. The footage gave a glimpse of the animation quality fans can expect, along with a preview of some of the fights coming up in the Culling Game Part 2.
At the start of the trailer, it appeared that Kenjaku was dropping the prison realm deep under the ocean. And after a few scenes we already saw in the anime, we can see Kenjaku ending the Culling Games, at which even Kogane is acting surprised. Moving forward, it’s obvious that we’re going to see a very colorful, intense battle between Hakari and Kashimo. Maki is seen with more action, and Kenjaku is somehow sitting inside the White House of the USA.
The trailer has shown even crazier moments. For example, Yuki and Choso are fighting Kenjaku, and Megumi is attempting to summon Mahoraga once more. It’s possible that Sukuna will once more take over Yuji’s body. We can also see that Yuji is being trapped by ice, which is likely the work of Uraume, as they are the ones with that Cursed Technique.
One more thing is for sure: Sukuna’s binding vow with Yuji that he made in Season One will finally play a role in this season, as we saw Sukuna remember that exact moment.
Will Gojo Satoru Return in Season 4?

For many fans, this must be all that matters. After all, Gojo is arguably more loved than any other modern character in the anime industry. At the end of Season 3, Megumi made contact with the Angel, and that means that there is hope to free Gojo from the Prison Realm.
We can expect the season to end with Gojo’s revival, and then that would make Season 5, or a movie if that’s what MAPPA makes, one of the most anticipated entries because right after Gojo comes out, he is battling Kenjaku and possibly Sukuna as well.
Where Will Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 Be Available?

If you’ve been watching Jujutsu Kaisen so far, this one’s simple. Crunchyroll has held the international streaming rights for the series since it started, and there’s no reason to expect that to change with Season 4. Following the same pattern as the previous three seasons, Crunchyroll will most likely be the primary platform for international fans to catch new episodes as they air.
Jujutsu Kaisen is among the best anime on Crunchyroll right now, and all 3 seasons can be binged on the platform along with the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, if you want the full chronological experience.
