The film had some popular scenes, which include the floating on a door in the North Atlantic Ocean scene, the ship’s bow scene, and the one in which an elderly couple lay in bed, as the ship sank. But a lot was going on behind the scenes, which the fans might not know.

Titanic was released in 1997, and the movie’s most iconic scene is ‘The Bow Scene’. Here, Jack and Rose meet at the front of the ship at dusk, climb onto the bow, and stretch their arms out to the ocean. The scene was shot in real sunlight, and it turned out to be one of the most iconic and romantic scenes in cinematic history.

A lot of hard work and retakes went into the scene, which the fans might not be aware of. While talking to Vanity Fair, Kate Winslet revealed how the movie’s director, James Cameron, wanted a specific type of light for this scene. Although the actors’ faces seem to be full of glow in the sunlight, continuous hair, and makeup touch-ups went behind the scenes to make them look the way they did. Winslet told Vanity Fair,

I look at that and remember, how much I couldn’t breathe in that bloody corset. It was a nightmare shooting this.

The actress also revealed how hair and makeup could not reach the actors because they had to climb up a ladder to reach the top of the ship (set). She also revealed how she was redoing both hers and DiCaprio’s makeup in between the shots and how they had to re-shoot it four times because of the sun’s changing direction.

Up until now, fans only saw the movie as a source of entertainment. However, some facts about the movie, as per Britannica, can open the eyes wide. Turns out, Rose’s sketches were not drawn by Jack, but by Cameron (the director) himself, and the image was cleverly reversed.

Winslet got hypothermia when she shot the end scene because of the cold water. Further, Cameron himself dived into the ocean to capture the wrecked Titanic footage. These facts are bound to make the movie even more interesting for fans.

Titanic is available on Disney+Hotstar and Amazon Prime with Subscription.
