Kevin Costner’s Estranged Wife Reportedly Won’t Leave His Home if $250M Rich Yellowstone Star Won’t Return Her Exercise Bike
The word announcing a failing Hollywood marriage does not stray off of news outlets for long. A couple in the entertainment industry staying happily married is quite uncommon. Gracing gossip sites and new outlets in recent days is the messy divorce of Yellowstone star Kevin Costner and his now ex-wife Christine Baumgartner. From leaked legal statements, and monetary demands, this tale of love getting defenestrated has it all.
Christine Baumgartner Won’t Quit Til Her Demands Are Met
After her ex-husband’s claims of Baumgartner taking his property “without knowledge or consent”. The 49- year- old bag designer is adamant about retrieving what she calls her family heirlooms. She refuses to leave the actor’s house which has prompted him to an emergency court filing. The filing has made Baumgartner restricted from her former husband’s $145 dollars beach estate, her former home. And that she can’t take anything from the house.
The court has obligated Kevin Costner to a six-figure sum in child support. But there are some items Baumgartner refuses to give up on. One of which is her Peloton exercise bike. The filing has rendered her unable to access and/or acquire any of the items which are off-limits. This list includes off-limit items including furniture, appliances, artwork, or anything from their storage units.
The Messiest Divorce: Proving What Belongs To Whom
The question of the division of the former couple’s past belongings has them making each other proof of their ownership over household items. Costner’s legal statements, obtained by Page Six show him claiming that should his ex-wife want to acquire anything for their past home, she needs to prove her ownership over it. This notion has been labeled “premature” by his ex-wife’s lawyers.
Baumgartner’s lawyers also said on the matter:
“Kevin claims that everything in the Beach Club properties is his separate property. However, there has been no proof of this. Many of these items were acquired during the marriage and are presumptively community property. By way of a double standard, Kevin, having not provided proof that any listed item is his separate property, claims that Christine cannot remove anything from the residence unless she proves it is her separate property to his satisfaction.”
Baumgartner herself on the other hand has clarified that any of the items she chooses to take are in no way causing a loss to her former husband.
“There is no mystery as to what I plan to remove. Kevin will not be harmed by my removal of any of the items I have listed, and certainly not personal items such as my peloton bike and family heirlooms,” could be read in her legal statements.
The two find it hard to have a common ground.
