Every year at the Met Gala, Miss Kim Kardashian makes headlines; but last year she went above and beyond by donning the famous outfit worn by Marilyn Monroe. The reality TV star had already received criticism for shedding 16 pounds to fit into the dress. But during last year’s Met Gala, she was also criticized for wearing the dress on the red carpet despite being unable to zip it up.

The mother of four arrived at the 2022 Met Gala and made a statement in a vintage Jean Louis ‘n*ked’ dress that was once sported by none other than Hollywood royalty, Marilyn Monroe. She was accompanied by her ex-boyfriend, Pete Davidson, on that red carpet.

Although she undoubtedly looked stunning in Marilyn Monroe’s famous dress at the Met Gala, she had to suffer a real struggle donning the famous outfit.

Kim Kardashian Couldn’t Zip Her Dress Over Her Butt For the 2022 Met Gala

Fans were very curious about Kim Kardashian‘s outfit when she appeared at the 2022 Met Gala wearing a dress that was once donned by Marilyn Monroe. However, a behind-the-scenes video of the 42-year-old American socialite, in which she was trying hard to fit into the fabled garment, provided some juicy details.

Another thing that captured fans’ attention was that Kardashian had paired the eye-catching outfit with a white fur coat, which she wore draped around her lower back and waist.

Some people thought the furry addition might be a nod to Marilyn Monroe, who first wore the dress in the 1960s with a white coat. Later, it appeared, that the coat was less of an accessory and more of a necessity.

Ten days before the Met Gala 2022, a behind-the-scenes video was captured, and it showed a group of assistants attempting to fit the dress over Kardashian’s famous curves.

Joined by her ex-boyfriend, Pete Davidson, and hairstylist, Chris Appleton, she stood in the center of a tiny room as gloved helpers delicately shimmed the gown over her legs. But, they ran into some trouble when they reached her butt.

Then, How Has She Made It?

The dress’ basic issue was that it wouldn’t zip over her butt, and she was unable to fix it. As a result, the solution was a white, vintage fur coat that was draped over the partially closed zipper.

Kim Kardashian quickly enlisted Chris Appleton and Pete Davidson‘s help because she was worried the dress might get damaged. They provided assistance and, of course, some humor from the sidelines. She jokingly said,

Dear Lord,” as the stylists dressed her. “Should we sing ‘Hallelujah’ or something?”

While the helpers struggled with the fabric, Appleton gave instructions, “Kim, push your ass!….IN!”. On the other hand, Davidson held her hands from the front.

The group finally got the dress over her butt with some serious teamwork, but they were unable to close the zip. So, they used a vintage fur coat that was draped over the partially closed zipper. Kim K looked pleased with the outcome and, despite the ordeal, looked at the partially undone zip in the mirror.

“Can we use that tie and tie it and keep it open? What if we did that and put a fur over?”

At the very least, Kim K always proves that if there’s a will, there’s a way. She definitely pulled it off, much to the delight of fans, who couldn’t help but notice how relaxed she seemed on the red carpet in spite of the pressure of her iconic look.

The moral of the story is that a ‌little cooperation, a white fur coat, and teamwork are sometimes all you need to succeed. Well done, Kim Kardashian!
