King Charles Coronation Concert Date and Celebrity list: Who Else is Performing Besides Katy Perry?

The British family will soon gather for the grand celebration of King Charles at Westminster Abbey in London on May 6. According to reports, Meghan Markle will not be attending the event as experts claim the Duchess of Sussex has already soiled the reputation of her father-in-law and the Royal family in general. After the death of his beloved mother King Charles III, took over the full royal responsibilities of the former queen and became the king of the United Kingdom of Great Britain.

Prince Harry’s late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, died last year and to now honor the new heir the royal family will assemble for a traditional coronation ceremony in London, where King Charles will officially be crowned.

The BBC studio confirmed this week the lineup of singers who will make an appearance to perform on stage at the King Charles Coronation Concert on May 7. The gala event will start a day after King Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, will be crowned at Westminster Abbey and step into their new royal titles.

The outlet announced that singers Katy Perry Lionel Richie and Andrea Bocelli will be the main highlight of the event. And others who will be joining the stars will be the British pop group Take That, U.K. talent Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, and Alexis Ffrench. According to reports, the rest of the guest list will be under the full control of the government as it’s a state occasion.

A source told the site,

“The Duke of Sussex has confirmed that he will be traveling from the US for the coronation but his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, will not be attending.”

It further notes,

“The concert will celebrate a new chapter in the nation’s history, with themes of love, respect, and optimism, celebrating the four nations, their communities, and the Commonwealth.”

This is not the first time that Katy Perry will perform at such a major event for the royal family. The Harleys in Hawaii singer have known Prince Harry’s father for a long time. In her statement Katty Perry said,

Kate Middleton was reportedly upset about the prospect of Meghan Markle attending the Royal event, next month although now it has been confirmed that the Duchess of Sussex will not be assembled for the ceremony. According to the royal expert Eloise Parker, Middleton is glad that Markle is not attending King Charles’s coronation ceremony. However, Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Harry will be attending the ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London.

Parker told Entertainment Tonight,

“I think there’s bound to be some relief from William and Kate that Meghan won’t be attending the coronation simply because less emphasis is going to be on them, who’s looking where, who’s lip reading, what’s going on between them.”

She continued,

“There’s such a fever of interest in these relationships and the truth is we’re never going to see a Real Housewives moment between these women. Everything is going to be kept firmly under wraps and I think for Kate, the fact that Meghan isn’t attending, helps her keep it that way.”

As for the events highlights the chief content officer at the BBC production said,

“We are bringing the nation together for this once-in-a-generation occasion, broadcast exclusively across the BBC live from Windsor Castle. We have a world-class lineup of performers to look forward to for what promises to be a very special night of celebration and entertainment.”
