Before that, the actor was set for some of the massive projects in the industry and secured the leading roles in films. The Devotion star has been fired from the MCU, followed by speculations about his brand deals and now the uncertain fate of his other movie Magazine Dreams.

Jonathan Majors’ film first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January last year and follows the story of a bodybuilder who craves fame. Majors played Killian Maddox who’s struggling with his mental issues and yet trying hard to become the best and most powerful version of himself. Magazine Dreams was written by Elijah Bynum who needed to showcase the culture of destructive masculinity that surrounds bodybuilding, leading men to cross lines.

According to THR, a source said that Magazine Dreams “would have 100 percent been in the awards conversation” if Jonathan Majors had not been involved in domestic violence with his ex-partner. The actor worked for 18 months to transform himself into the character and writer-director Elijah Bynum specifically kept the Creed III star in mind while crafting his project. However, Magazine Dreams is now left with no release date, as Jonathan Majors awaits sentencing hearing on February 6, and it has been reported that the actor can face up to a year in jail.

Jonathan Majors Was “Shocked and Afraid” After Assault Verdict

Jonathan Majors’ lawyer Priya Chaudhry’s claims that the Antman star was victimized. According to People, the lawyer claimed that Majors’ was targeted for being a Black man being accused by a White woman. However, he was declared guilty by a Manhattan Jury on December 18, 2023.

Following the conviction of Jonathan Majors, he sat down with Linsey Davis for an interview with ABC News that was aired on Good Morning America. Da 5 Bloods star said he was “shocked and afraid” (via Deadline). The actor also added that:

“I’m standing there and the verdict comes down. I say, ‘How is that possible based off the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence? How is that possible?… I was reckless with her heart, not with her body.”

Majors claimed that he had never “hit a woman” and was extremely disheartened to have found himself in that situation. His interview clips were all over the internet, with netizens debating over the decision taken by the jury.

Currently, there has been no official release date for Magazine Dreams.
