Actress Margot Robbie, who delivered one of the best performances of her career as Barbie in the recently released movie alongside Ryan Gosling, decided to take some time off the promotional events related to the movie and treat herself with a lavish getaway worth £50,000 that she deserves.

The actress, along with her husband Tom Ackerley and her 14 friends, were whisked away for an all-expenses-paid stay in a luxury cabin at Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire. According to reports, the group had a private chef who cooked over a charcoal grill, luxury spa treatments, a cocktail van with free-flowing booze, a hot tub, and on-site activities. However, a source shared that even though the weather wasn’t that great, the group was happy to chill and eat.

An insider shared with The Sun, “Despite being the hottest actress on the planet right now, Margot is incredibly down-to-earth and loves nothing more than hanging out with her best mates. She knows the tight-knit crowd through work and her husband, and she feels like she can be herself around them and really let her hair down.”

They continued, “After spending the last few weeks dressed to the nines and tottering around in heels, Margot ditched the glad rags and donned jeans, comfy hoodies, and flip-flops. Her mates mostly work in the film industry too, so they’re not fazed by Margot’s fame and she can just be herself.”

Did Margot Robbie cast herself as Barbie?

During an interview with Teen Vogue, the actress whose face has been set as Barbie in everyone’s mind as of now, shared how she landed the role. She said, “I didn’t audition for the role of Barbie. I produced the film, so I guess I cast myself.”

Robbie further explained that at the end of the day, it was Greta Gerwig who had the final say on the casting but she told her that she was very passionate about making Barbie as a producer but she doesn’t have to play Barbie or be in the movie in any capacity. She added that she made Gerwig aware that she was happy just to produce the movie but Gerwig wanted to write the movie for her.

A minor spoiler from the movie is that Margot Robbie’s Barbie never really kisses Ryan Gosling’s Ken in the movie. Ahead of the release of the movie in June, the co-stars spoke to People magazine where Robbie was asked if she was happy that she didn’t have to fully kiss Gosling in the movie, to which she said that it didn’t feel like a win for her.

She explained with a laugh, “All of my girlfriends were like, ‘Well, you did a whole movie with him and you didn’t kiss? What’s wrong with you? I thought you were kind of in charge on this one!’ I was like, ‘I know, I can’t check that one off [my list]’.”
