Mark Wahlberg talks about taking away the DVDs of Transformers from his kids’ room

In an interview with Contact Music back in 2013, Mark Wahlberg shared that he has banned his kids from watching his box office-successful movie Transformers. He shared an incident explaining his decision,

“My four year old screamed ‘s***’! the other day, when his brother knocked the football out of his hand. I almost laughed but thankfully I was able to hold it in. I said, ‘Where did you hear that kind of language?’ and he looked up at me and said, Transformers. Then I told my wife and we have the Transformers DVDs down in their room—so they’ve been taken away now. But I hope they get to see the new one.”

Ahead of the release of 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight, Mark Wahlberg shared with CBS News on the red carpet that the movie had brought him back to his childhood years. He said,

“It’s as much fun as you can ever imagine. Anybody who’s ever been a kid, playing with big things, this is exactly what it’s like. Blowing things up, shooting guns…it’s amazing.”

The movie upon its release received negative reviews from the critics as well as the audience. The 2017 installment of the franchise is often regarded as the worst-reviewed installment of the series. The Prequel movie Bumblebee released in 2018 redeemed the franchise as it was a commercial and critical success with Dylan O’Brien voicing the character of Bumblebee.
