Marvel Fans Blasted for “Selective Morality” as Loki vs. George Stacy Debate Blows up Online
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has introduced us to a wide variety of characters over the years. While some are loved, others are despised by the fans. More often than not, fans get divided over a few characters and start having an online debate about it. The same happened recently when a debate was sparked between the characters of Loki and George Stacy.
Interestingly, George Stacy seems to be getting more hate than Loki online which has certainly upset a major chunk of fans.

Is George Stacy actually better than Loki?
The character George Stacy became popular only after the release of the Spider-verse movies. However, the recognition hasn’t been all good. In the climax of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, his daughter, Gwen Stacy pulls off her mask and reveals her true self. Caught in a dilemma of being a father and a cop, George Stacy points his gun at her and asks her to surrender. This particular scene has brought a lot of hate towards the character.
However, some fans have questioned the “selective morality” as George Stacy is being hated while Loki is loved despite being a jerk to his brother, Thor. A fan pointed out the same hypocrisy online on Twitter by saying:
“Marvel fans selective morality on who is & isn’t redeemable is interesting to me. Loki has physically assaulted his brother several times but still people yearn for their reunion while George Stacy deeply regrets & apologizes for his mistakes but fans can’t forgive him.”

Is Marvel planning to bring back some old characters?
There’s no denying the fact that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the most beloved franchises in the world. According to recent reports, some of the MCU characters, which fans had assumed would never return, might make a comeback.
Speaking about the same during her interview with The Watch, author of the new Marvel book MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios Joanna Robinson had this to say:
“We have a quote from Kevin Feige sort of implying that, like, Secret Wars will serve as a soft reboot in which they can prune everything… That’s not to use a Loki-ism. [They’ll] prune everything that’s not working and just keep what is [working], or bring back people you thought were gone forever.”
It’s safe to say that this news is worth celebrating as fans might get the chance to watch their favourite superheroes come back on the big screen. However, the villains that we thought were gone for good might also make a return.
