Marvel Reportedly Considering Bringing The Ultimates Into The MCU
Avengers: Endgame has brought an end to the original six heroes, with it looking likely that the Avengers as a team are over going forward. So, the MCU will be needing some new line-ups to populate its movies in Phase Four and beyond that. We’ve already been told to expect the likes of the Young Avengers, the Thunderbolts and the Eternals, but could the Ultimates be joining them, too?
Will The Ultimates be joining the MCU?
HN Entertainment is reporting that they’ve been informed that Marvel is considering adapting the Ultimates for either the film or TV side of the franchise. The team name originally referred to Mark Millar’s version of the Avengers from the Ultimate comics universe, but HN’s report suggests that Marvel’s looking to work with the contemporary version of the group, led by Captain Marvel and featuring such heroes as Black Panther, Blue Marvel and also Miss America.

Though unconfirmed for now, this seems like a good bet, considering the current shape of the MCU and where we’ve been told it’s heading. For one, a movie that brought together Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers and Chadwick Boseman’s King T’Challa would obviously make a huge amount of money, after their solo ventures proved to be box office gold. What’s more, studio president Kevin Feige has promised a more diverse range of heroes from now onwards and the Ultimates is notable for featuring several people of color.
Ultimates to follow the Avengers Endgame
Marvel was shelving the Avengers following Endgame, with no more team-up movies planned until the New Avengers made up of teen heroes are introduced. According to HNE, we can expect the Ultimates to follow them. Though it sounds as if the concept is in its very early stages and at the moment, could end up as a Disney Plus series instead.
