Marvel Star Ryan Reynolds Chose Andrew Garfield Over His Wife After Getting a Disappointing News on Live Television

The duo were seated next to each other at the same table at the Golden Globes 2017, which was held at the Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills. Blake Lively, who was at the ceremony as well, seemed unfazed by the actions of the two actors and even clapped for Gosling, who was making his way to the stage to accept his award.
However, during an acceptance speech for Harvard University’s annual Hasty Pudding Theatricals Man of the Year, Reynolds admitted via ET,
“I’m going to go with my wife on that one, for a number of reasons. Make no mistake, Andrew Garfield is a wonderful kisser. Very generous — a real darting tongue.”

During his appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the Spider-Man actor was asked about his viral kiss with the Deadpool actor, to which he explained,
“It was a ridiculous thing. I said to Ryan Reynolds, ‘If you win, kiss me instead of your wife [Blake Lively].’ And he said, ‘Yeah, that’s great.’ And the plan was that he would kind of move towards his wife, and then kind of at the last minute lean in to it. And then he didn’t win, much to our disappointment, so I said to Ryan, ‘We can still just do it if we want.’ And he was game.”
When Andrew appeared on Stephen Colbert’s show, he admitted that he just wanted Ryan Reynolds to know that he loved him no matter who won or lost. He added, “I just wanted him to know that [winning] doesn’t matter, it’s how you play the game. He showed up, he gave his all, it doesn’t change anything in my heart.”

In an interview back in February with Variety, the Canadian actor said that he loves that his character is pansexual, adding; “I love that he can break any boundary. In the future, I hope that we can do that more. I certainly wouldn’t be the guy standing in the way of that. That would be great.”
In an interview with Variety, he said, “The great thing about Deadpool is that we’re allowed to do things that other superhero movies don’t necessarily do, and that’s probably one of them. It’s something that I’d love to see more of, certainly through Wade, certainly through this universe, because it’s something that we’re building out more. We have a lot of tools in the shed that we get to play with.”
He also confessed that as long as he is allowed to play the superhero on-screen, he’d like to do that. Deadpool 3 is going to star Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds.
Deadpool 3 has a release date of May 3, 2024.
