Marvel Star Tatiana Maslany Almost Played a Different Role Before Becoming She-Hulk
Canadian actress, Tatiana Maslany is known for playing the iconic female green superhero, She-Hulk, in the 2022 Marvel series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Apart from playing the iconic Hulk, Tatiana Maslany has been part of several movies and TV shows, even showing her charisma in acting by winning an Emmy Award.

Structured in a sitcom style, Jennifer Walter’s She-Hulk, which also includes ultimate star Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk, plays a pivotal role in training Jen to deal with her superpowers. The 36-year-old Tatiana Maslany auditioned for the Marvel show and says she immediately fell in love with Jessica Gao’s script. However, unlike Bruce Banner’s Hulk, Jennifer Walters, who similarly got affected by the transformation, does know how to control her alter ego. The series was reportedly an ultimate disappointment to the fans, earning a 1 star in the current IMDB score of 5.4 out of 10, the lowest of all the MCU series.
Maslany started her film career in 2004 through Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed. Apart from that, she has acted in many major films and TV shows, varying from supporting to leading roles. Her breakthrough was witnessed in her stunning lead role in the science fiction series Orphan Black, produced by BBC America and Bell Space Media from 2013 to 2014. In the show, Maslany, as Sarah Manning, skillfully brings various and distinct versions of clone characters to life. The story was critically acclaimed for its captivating and intricate narrative. Moreover, Maslany was appreciated for her remarkable acting, which garnered her multiple awards, including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress and two Critics’ Choice Awards. Tatiana Maslany’s MCU journey from rejections to revelations
Her other notable films include Eastern Promises, Cas and Dylan, Picture Day, and Stronger. Besides that, she starred in 2011’s crime comedy, Violet and Daisy, alongside Saoirse Ronan and Alexis Bledel, as well as the Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum-led romance, The Vow. She also made a significant presence in TV series such as The Messengers and in a Canadian family comedy Heartland. She had a lead role in the television film An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving, and also portrayed a kidnapping victim in the Canadian series Flashpoint.
Tatiana Maslany was also ineptly attempting to join the epic franchise MCU. She has been attending many auditions for a while. In a conversation with CBR, she revealed that she has been rejected multiple times by the MCU. She specified an instance where she once got rejected for Venom, a Sony Marvel Pictures film. When asked which role she tried out for, she said, “Not for Venom, unfortunately. But for Venom’s girlfriend or whatever,” and that part was eventually taken by Michelle Williams.
