MCU: Who’s The Funniest Avenger
One of the most important elements of creating a Marvel movie is humour. It keeps people coming back for more and is one key way of familiarizing viewers with the superheroes. From Hulk’s one-liners to Ant-Man slamming into another room, it only takes a few minutes in any Marvel film to depict how funny and charismatic these actors are when they all want to shine in their own way, regardless of their special powers. With that being said, these are the funniest Avengers from the MCU –
Captain America
Captain America is one of the funniest characters in any Marvel franchise. In fact, his character alone has even stolen scenes from other leading actors. Rather than getting offended by some rude comment made about him at an Avengers meeting, Cap often falls back on humour to deflect anger and lighten up otherwise tense situations. Of course, that doesn’t mean he won’t get serious if he needs to. He just knows an effective way to do so without halting all conversation around him.
Spider-Man
The new Spider-Man was the perfect replacement for our old hero. The second he swung on the screen in Captain America: Civil War, it was clear that Spidey had found his way into everyone’s hearts. Not only was he adored for his incredible work with the Avengers and keeping New York safe from criminals, but people also found him to be humorous which made everything all the better. Even when facing off in battle, Tom Holland’s performance manages to keep a lighthearted feel throughout it all which makes for an enjoyable watch for viewers.
Loki
Loki may not come off as the kindest and friendliest Norse God. But he is without a shadow of a doubt one of the funniest characters in the MCU. From his woeful attempts to conceal his true identity from Thor to his failed attempts at conquering Midgard with the Chitauri armies, this mischievous trickster has never failed to make everyone crack a smile. Though it’s rarely for very long! Whether he’s about to lead Jotunheim against Asgard or having a jolly good laugh at Stark Tower before literally getting squashed like a bug by Hulk, Loki always makes sure his scenes are packed with laughter and touches of humour.
Ant-Man
Rudd has masterfully portrayed the role of the smallest superhero of all of them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Quick, nimble, and with an ability to shrink and get really tiny – Ant-Man has managed to pull audiences into a world that’s heavy on concept. and a bit light on substance but they haven’t seemed to mind because Rudd makes it work so well! It certainly doesn’t hurt that the Quantum Realm is being upgraded to play a huge part in future movies. Moreover, keeping him within the comedy skid could never hurt anyone – especially when it comes down to his solo movies.
The Hulk
Hulk’s often-childish diction, pessimistic attitude and inability to control his temper have made him one of the most hilariously entertaining characters in the MCU. Of course, without Bruce Banner’s shyness and cautious demeanour, he’d probably be even more ridiculous now. We’ve seen Hulk showcase his acting chops in movies like Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War. While he has gotten a lot of flak for his straightforward approach, he’s had some funny moments as well.
