The famous legal drama has topped the charts with respect to viewership on one of the leading streaming platforms, Netflix. According to the reputed Nielson’s weekly streaming rankings, Suits is the second most-watched series on Netflix.
Meghan Markle played the character of paralegal Rachel Zane in the first season of the legal drama. She left the show in 2018, due to her marriage with the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry. However, not many people know that Meghan Markle was almost replaced by a Hollywood A-lister. The actor had auditioned for the character of the young paralegal from Pearson Hardman, but the role was passed on to Meghan Markle.
Jenna Coleman Was Supposed To Play Rachel Zane In The Legal Drama
The perfect casting of legal drama Suits needs no description. From Gabriel Macht’s Harvey Specter to Sarah Rafferty’s Donna- the actors played the characters so well that it almost felt like they were born to play their respective roles. It is next to impossible to imagine someone else in the shoes of Meghan Markle’s Rachel Zane. She was paired alongside actor Patrick J. Adams’ Mike Ross in the show. But it is interesting to know that British actor Jenna Coleman had also auditioned for the character of Rachel Zane in Suits.
Meghan Markle was almost replaced by The Sandman actor. But for reasons unknown, the role went to Mehan Markle, and her performance as the industrious paralegal at the law firm Pearson Hardman needs no introduction.
Actor Jenna Coleman went on to have an impressive career as she was roped in for the character of Clara Oswald in her debut show Doctor Who in 2012. She has been associated with reputed projects like Me Before You, The Sandman, The Serpent, and Victoria. Jenna Coleman will be next seen in the Television series Wilderness.
Jenna Coleman Was Allegedly Linked With Meghan Markle’s Husband Prince Harry
Apart from the character of the talented paralegal at the reputed law firm Pearson Hardman, there is an interesting link between the actors Meghan Markle and Jenna Coleman. According to rumors, Prince Harry was reportedly dating the British actor before he met his wife, Meghan Markle.
In 2018, when the royal prince was having a great time at a weekend gateway to Amsterdam, he bumped into one of his rumored exes, Jenna Coleman. Prince Harry met the actor in 2015 and the duo became ‘close friends’. According to the input given to the reputed media outlet Vanity Fair, by an insider present at the Soho House-
“Harry had to walk straight past Jenna to get to his and Meghan’s table. It was pretty awkward and some of the other guests were commenting on it. Jenna looked down while Harry looked straight ahead, while Meghan didn’t seem to notice.”
The insider further added-
“She sat through breakfast with a smile on her face, but Harry looked a bit uncomfortable. He’d been super friendly saying hi to everyone, but he didn’t even acknowledge Jenna.”
However, the rumored duo never dated officially. Prince Hary tied the knot with Meghan Markle on 19 May 2018. They are proud hands-on parents to their four-year-old son Archie and two-year-old daughter Lilibet.
