But in the year 2023, Wade Robson’s ability to file a lawsuit against the late pop legend Michael Jackson‘s estate has been given new life by the recent extension of the statute of limitations for victims who were minors. Robson, a well-known dancer, has returned to the witness stand and claims that Jackson repeatedly s*xually abused him as a child. Robson claims that Jackson’s friendliness and leadership were entwined with the alleged abuse.
In an interview with The Guardian, Robson said, “He made me feel complicit, that I wanted it at least as much as him.” The assault didn’t feel unusual to Robson at that time because it was being committed by this man who, to him, was a God. For him, a lot of it served as validation. “But what does that mean, that I liked it? Like, I’m a freak too” he added.
Many individuals have begun to question Jackson’s legacy in light of these revelations. Some of his supporters remain firm in defending him, claiming that the accusations against him were untrue and that he has never been found guilty of any crimes.
