The actress recently appeared with Pamela Anderson for Variety’s Actors on Actors interview. Anderson, during the interview, asked Madison if she and the rest of the cast worked with an intimacy coordinator while filming s*x scenes, as it is ‘the big thing these days.’ The young actress, however, went on to reveal,

The filmmaker offered me, if I wanted, an intimacy coordinator. But Mark Eydelshteyn, who plays Ivan, and I decided it would be best to just keep it small.

The duo played a couple in the movie and had to film several sequences, including s*x scenes that required varying amounts of nudity. She explained that her character is a s*x worker, and she had seen Sean Baker’s films and was aware of his dedication to being authentic. She said she was ready for it, and as an actress, she approached her role as a job.

The actress also described how she prepared for the role and said that it was a character that felt so far away from home in every single way. Madison admits that it was very intimidating at first, and she kept thinking, How can she empathize with her? But eventually decided that she just needed to start small.

I did quite a bit of pole training. I did this stripper boot camp where I was taught how to give lap dances and how to twerk. And I would know everything about her—what cigarettes she smokes, what her school life was like.

The young actress’ preparation for the character has certainly paid off well, as critics and audiences have lauded her performance.
