Though it is only a theory at this point, it looks like Moon Knight’s Ennead are somewhat linked to the Elder Gods. If that is the case then the connection between Moon Knight and Strange may be much more apparent than we had previously thought. The unique thing about Moon Knight is not just that it’s unlike any other MCU TV show to date – but also, that it lacks any obvious tie to the mainstream Marvel Cinematic Universe or its characters. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the synergies aren’t out there.

With that being said, Moon Knight is currently streaming on Disney+ with its final episode to be released on the 4th of May this year. It’d end right before two days of Doctor Strange 2’s worldwide release. Thus, it is highly anticipated that the Disney+ show will somehow build a link between itself and the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

“The Ennead” In Moon Knight Could Be The Elder Gods

Moon Knight is the MCU’s take on the fascinating albeit complex character from Marvel comics. While we were left scratching our heads initially at what this series was trying to tell us, after further examination over a few episodes it became clear that the show wasn’t just going to be another superhero origin story. It delves into history and mythology at a deeper level by introducing us to ancient Egyptian gods. They are explained early on in episode one but have become more complicated as time goes on. The books that Steven was going through included multiple names and those were the members of the Ennead (Horus, Atum, Osiris, Tefnut, Isis, Ammit, Hathor, Khonshu, and Shu).

Who Are The Ennead In The Marvel Cinematic Universe?

The Ennead are an ancient and disparate race (as per the Marvel Comics), hailing from the sunken city of Heliopolis and a pocket dimension known as the Etherverse. Thousands of years ago, they waged a war against the elder God Set who was banished to a distant realm. With that being said, The Masters of the Mystic Arts crew is derived straight from the comics. They have been tied to an all-powerful race of beings of the Elders who ruled the earth in prehistoric times. According to some rumors, a monstrous visage, somewhat similar to Chthon, could be the main villain in the upcoming Doctor Strange 2.

The Elder God Could Change Wanda Maximoff’s MCU Storyarc

If the Egyptian Gods in the MCU are truly the Elder Gods, Chthon may work, perhaps, in the same way as he does in the comic world. The WandaVision series showcased how the Scarlet Witch (also known as Wanda Maximoff) received her abilities. She is a being who can manipulate chaos magic, although it’s unclear whether that power was given to her or she had to go through some sort of series of events for it to appear in her world. As Wanda is one of the multiple avatars made by Chthon, she is not only the bridge between the two realms but also for his magic to enter this dimension.

And currently, episode 1 and 2 of Moon Knight is streaming exclusively on Disney+.
