“More actors need to do this”: Will Smith Walked into a Packed Theater to Do the Sweetest Thing for His Fans Watching Bad Boys: Ride or Die
It has been nearly two years since Will Smith made a rash decision to slap comedian Chris Rock across the face on the stage of the 94th Academy Awards. Rock was presenting the Best Documentary Feature Award and made a somewhat insensitive joke about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s medical condition, alopecia. The incident shook up Hollywood to its core and the consequences were brutal. The Men in Black actor has since apologized for his actions, but the headlines did not let go of it for a long time.
Will Smith is back to making headlines again with the release of his movie Bad Boys: Ride or Die, but for all the right things this time around. Not only does his movie appear to be on its way to success, but also proves that Smith is a hustler. In fact, recently, something he did for his fans is perhaps one of the sweetest things an actor can ever do.
Will Smith’s Recent Gesture Might Land Him in Fans’ Good Graces Once Again
Will Smith is undoubtedly one of the most talented and hard-working actors in Hollywood. Whether it is action, comedy, drama, or a blend of all of those, you name it, he has done it. With one Academy Award, one Golden Globe, one BAFTA, four Grammys, and multiple other prestigious accolades under his belt, he is one of the most bankable stars in the industry.
Having risen to fame as a part of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince in the late 1980s, he did not start his professional acting career until 1993. One of his first commercially successful movies was Bad Boys, released in 1995. Despite its mixed critical reception at the time, the movie spawned three sequels, and the latest of these is Bad Boys: Ride or Die.
Recently, Smith surprised fans at Cinemark Baldwin Hills Crenshaw in Los Angeles as he initially casually walked out of a show of his new movie unnoticed, until a fan noticed him in the lobby. Within a matter of minutes, fans were swarming around the star as he revealed that he watched the show with all the other viewers.
Fans were incredibly happy to discover that the star watched the entire movie with them and also interacted with them after they realized who it was they had just shared their space with, albeit unknowingly.
Fans Are All Praises About Will Smith’s Sweet Gesture
The fourth installment of Sony’s long-running action-comedy franchise Bad Boys is breaking through the summer box office slump as The Hollywood Reporter revealed that it has opened with $53 million at the domestic box office. Not to mention that the critics are also quite impressed with the film.
That said, showing up at an LA movie theater unannounced has probably made some fans teary-eyed. Some have even expressed their appreciation on X. Here is what they had to say:
