During The Marie Forleo Podcast, the Spider-Man 3 star revealed the 64-auditions trick her grandmother explained when she was 16 years old. Dallas Howard was told that the average number of auditions any actor has to go through before booking a job is 64. And this is what the actress kept in her mind while giving auditions. The Hereafter star said:
“When I started auditioning I just started counting and I promised myself I wasn’t going to get upset if I didn’t book something before 64 auditions… And it was the 48 audition I got that job.”
Bryce Dallas Howard explained that it was her 48th audition that got her first job, and this was when her agent was startled to witness the actress’s determination. She added:
“My agents then who is still my agent today she later asked me ‘how did you not quit?’… she said ‘I was really getting worried and most actors quit long before you did’ and I told her that the story with my grandmother I wish more artists knew that.”
Despite suffering 47 failed auditions, Bryce Dallas remained patient and determined to enter the acting world. Her journey is a perfect example of how setbacks and failures can never stop a person from achieving their dream. Bryce Dallas Howard’s Parents Didn’t Want Her To Become an Actress
Bryce Dallas Howard is the daughter of actor and director Ron Howard, who’s considered an incredible figure in the industry. And despite her background, her parents initially didn’t like the idea of her acting at a young age. During an interview with The Telegraph, the Dads star shared:
“When I was seven I was allowed to be an extra in Parenthood, which was amazing. But then I kind of got addicted to it and my parents didn’t want me to want to act. They felt that would be putting your kid in an adult world.”
This was due to Bryce Dallas Howard being a 7-year-old kid, and her parents wanted to keep their daughter safe from the adult world. Despite the initial denial, the actress went to a summer drama camp and honed her acting skills.
