Yes, we agree showing everything in a single time-bound movie isn’t easy at times. So, the makers decide to go ahead with sequels. Sometimes these sequels turn out to be good. However, sometimes they are just not worth watching. We’ve felt that sequels do not carry the same feel and impact as compared to their originals. Yes, there are exceptions. 1. Daddy Day Camp (2007)
Even though it is said to be a comedy film. It didn’t hit off right with the audience. It’s a sequel to Daddy Day Care. While the audience loved the first movie, they felt, the second installment lacked a good-natured spirit and was unfunny. Moreover, the audience didn’t like the plot of the movie and weren’t pleased by the performances by the actors.
2. Jaws: The Revenge (1987)
This movie is a direct sequel to Jaws 2. Being a horror film, people assumed it’s going to be thrilling. But the audience reviewed it in the other direction. They felt the dialogues were poor, editing looked as if it was done in a hurry, and the movie had terrible special effects. Now, special effects are one of the many things that make or break a horror movie. SO, if they look terrible, sure thing the movie will be terrible.
3. Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 (2004)
Just like its predecessor, the sequel didn’t receive good reviews. Moreover, the movie bombed the box office badly. The screenplay, plot, performance, dialogues, and whatnot. In totality, it was believed the movie was forced upon us since the first one was also ruled out by the critics. Still, moving ahead? That’s a bold move.
4. Scary Movie 5 (2013)
This movie concluded the Scary Movie franchise. The makers thought they’d end the series on a good note with a spectacular movie. However, the movie received negative reviews from both critics and the audience. They felt the movie was unfunny. bland and not written well. Moreover, they felt the movie was sort of unorganized.
5. Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997)
The audience and critics appreciated the first installment, so the makers went ahead with the sequel. However, it was nothing like the first. The movie had bad direction, performance, plot. Even Willem Dafoe couldn’t save the movie. Or maybe he is the reason why people watched it till the end. Many people feel the movie should have been cut short so that it was watchable. The length of the movie made it exhaustive to reach the climax. It is also said, that even Keanu Reeves couldn’t have saved the movie. It was that bad according to a few users!
6. Basic Instinct 2 (2006)
This movie was not even close to the original one. It was a plain disappointment for a few! You watch the first one, and you instantly become a fan of the movie, but the sequel is nowhere close. Many call this movie to be a bad replica of the original. This says it all.
7. Highlander II: The Quickening (1991)
This movie is a sequel, but according to the audience, it is completely off track. It considers nothing that happened in the first film and leaves the audience divided and confused. It is believed that the movie has a poor plot and script. Moreover, the movie lacks entertainment.
