Coronavirus pandemic had kept the entire world at standstill, and it affected the movie industry as well. Due to all the norms and social distancing regulations, the theatres were shut down and the shootings were canceled and the release date was postponed.

But now thankfully things are coming back to normal, and we can expect a lot of movies hitting the theaters in the coming year. Here are the most anticipated movies!

1. Morbius – 28th January 2022

MORBIUS - Official Trailer (HD)

Marvel Comic fans have been waiting for a long time to see Morbius get his debut. Biochemist Michael Morbius tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease, but his experiment goes wrong and he inadvertently infects himself with a form of vampirism instead.

Morbius is Spider-Man’s frenemy and is also known as the Living Vampire. The movie will capitalize on the success of Venom movies and expand Sony’s part of Marvel films. Jared Leto is taking on Morbius and the film is directed by Daniel Espinosa.

2. The Batman – 4th March 2022

DC brings us yet another iteration of the Batman and director Matt Reeves is set to explore the darker take on Batman than what the fans have already seen.

This Batman movie will see the Caped Crusader in a dual role of Gotham City’s vigilante detective and his alter ego as the billionaire Bruce Wayne. We can’t wait to see Robert Pattison play Batman.

3. Turning Red – 11th March 2022

Turning Red | Official Trailer

This movie seems quite promising and the trailer just hyped it to the next level (and Mei is so cute). The story revolves around an overachieving 13-year-old girl, Meilin “Mei” Lee, who has can’t really control her emotions and gets angry too at times.

But she must control her anger or else she will turn into a red panda and her parents have some explaining to do as well. We can’t wait to watch Pixar has for us this time!

Director Domee Shi’s making her well-deserved full-length debut for Pixar. She had won an Academy Award for her short film Bao.

4. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore – 8th April 2022

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore – Official Trailer

This movie took forever to be made, first due to Johnny Depp’s legal issues and then the coronavirus pandemic. The third installment of the Fantastic Beasts series which is a prequel series of Harry Potter is set to take place in the years which lead up to World War II as the vagabond Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne) and his Wizarding friends have come out to take down Adolf Hitler and Gellert Grindelwald (now played by Mads Mikkelsen)

Will we finally see how Dumbeldore managed to win against the Elder Wand?

5. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness – 6th May 2022

This movie is going to be insane!!! It is a way too highly anticipated film in Marvel Cinematic Universe and is directly tied up with the events from Marvel’s first Disney+ series, WandaVision.

Doctor Strange will be joined by Maximoff in his adventures as he tries to deal with the multiverse madness. And how we know that this movie is gonna be a real deal is the fact that Sam Raimi is back to direct a Marvel film, and knowing how good he is, we can expect wonders in this one!!

6. Thor: Love and Thunder – 8th July 2022

Thor: Love and Thunder, will be seeing the return of Natalie Portman as Jane Foster to the franchise and we can (maybe) expect her to wield Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir. Thor will be meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy and face Gorr the God Butcher (played by Christian Bale). So much excitement!

7. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) – 7th October 2022

SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE (PART ONE) – First Look

Sony can’t go wrong when it comes to Spider-Man. And Miles Morales’ world is expanding! The first film won an Oscar and was a massive hit among critics and the audiences and the second film can probably give any MCU film a run for its money.

There is a lot of dimension-hopping from what we can see in the first look. Maybe more spider-men incoming?
