Although Emily Blunt has been busy with her latest film Oppenheimer, a few months ago the actress revealed her desire to work on the sequel of the 2014 movie, Edge of Tomorrow, opposite Tom Cruise. The co-stars have been busy for the past years with Cruise coming out with Blockbusters like last year’s Top Gun: Maverick and this year’s Mission Impossible 7.
Although he has never touched on the subject, Blunt opened up about reading a screenplay for a possible sequel which she seemingly liked a lot. If the directors and producers of the 2014 Sci-fi ever announce the greenlight, people can rest assured that Blunt will unhesitatingly reprise her role.
Emily Blunt Is Eager to Return For Edge of Tomorrow 2
Although there is no official confirmation about a sequel for 2014’s Edge of Tomorrow, discussion around it has been on for a long while. Lead actress Emily Blunt has even revealed the existence of a screenplay that she was allowed to look at. Moreover, when asked about her thoughts on reprising her role in the films, Blunt shared that she was more than ready to do so.
A few months ago during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, she briefly discussed her experience working on the 2014 film alongside Tom Cruise and the possibility of a sequel. Although the movie came out about a decade ago, and there has not been much talk about it, the Oppenheimer actress expressed her wish for the second installment to happen in the future soon.
Blunt also recalled having a tough time while shooting due to the heavy exo-suit she had to wear for the film saying,
“I won’t forget. No, my back still tweaks out on me sometimes, you know?”
While praising her co-star, the actress revealed that she is eager to collab with Cruise for a sequel.

What is Edge of Tomorrow All About?
Directed by Doug Liman, Edge of Tomorrow is a 2014 sci-fi movie starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt in the leading roles. The plot of the film revolves around Major William Cage (Cruise) who has to put his best effort to protect planet Earth and the human species against Aliens, after he gets caught in a time loop.
He also gets the help of a warrior named Rita Vrataski played by Blunt. The story is based on a Japanese light novel titled All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. As for the reception for the movie, it gave an average performance at the box office but received positive critical reviews.
