“My pillows don’t hate me”: John Mayer Reveals He’s No Longer Dating After Sobriety, Despises Womanizer Tag for Dating Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and Jennifer Aniston
John Mayer is working really hard to change his image. First comes the professional makeover, with a mainstream pop album that mainly features his sexuality. Then he undergoes a personal makeover, portraying himself as a former womanizer who now just wants to get married. The 45-year-old actor has been romantically linked to well-known figures in Hollywood like Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Jessica Simpson over the past year. The singer of Gravity admitted he no longer practices liquid consumption after six years, and now confirmed that he no longer feels compelled to date or be in a relationship.
In a podcast interview with Call Her Daddy, Mayer then admitted that he no longer views dating as a pattern or a codified activity.
John Mayer’s effort to change his reputation as a womanizer
Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Jessica Simpson are just a few famous women to whom John Mayer has been romantically linked. He also addressed his reputation as a “womanizer” in the podcast episode of Call Her Daddy, which was published on Wednesday (December 21). He confessed, “I really don’t date. I don’t think I have to, to be quite honest. I quit drinking like six years ago, so I don’t have the liquid courage. I just have dry courage.” He was also alleged of mistreating the women, while he was in relationships with them.
The public’s perception of Mayer as a womanizer, which he claimed he never set out to be, was addressed by himself in the interview.
John Mayer claims he was devoted to each of his relationships!
John Mayer clarifies fans’ misconceptions surrounding his love life in the podcast itself. Mayer insisted that in all of his relationships, he was “devoted to the idea that this could go the distance.” The performer said to the audience earlier this year while on a tour that he wishes people would stop telling him to settle down. “Throughout my entire life, including today, if you had told me that I could have a wonderful two-month relationship with someone but it would end on the first day of the third month, I would not be interested,” the 45-year-old singer-songwriter said to host Alex Cooper.
“I’m doing fine because the left side of my bed is just a row of pillows.” Mayer jokingly remarked at the time, “Sleepsleep next to a row of pillows. That stack of pillows doesn’t resent or hate me or bring me down.” He continued, saying he was doing good and was confident he would meet someone someday.
