“Never heard anyone say ‘oh i love her'”: Jennifer Lopez Insulted 2 Time Oscar Winner Winona Ryder, Said Stranger Things Star Is Only Good At Winning Awards, Not Hearts
It’s no coincidence that Jennifer Lopez, 53, always stays in the limelight because of her success, her personal life, the controversy surrounding her, and her impolite behavior. During her previous interview, the Halftime actress made shady comments about other female celebrities that revealed her other side of behavior. In an old interview, Jennifer Lopez insulted Stranger Things actress Winona Ryder, saying she isn’t famous enough to win fans’ hearts.
Jennifer Lopez Says Winona Ryder Isn’t Good At Winning Fans’ Hearts
Winona Ryder, 50, won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance in 2017 for her role as Joyce Byers in the Netflix original series Stranger Things.
It’s no secret that Jennifer Lopez is known to throw shade at her colleagues, who, in an old interview, criticized various celebrities, including Stranger Things star Winona Ryder. Unfortunately, Ryder also caught up in the singer’s fiery remarks. Lopez never liked Ryder as an actress and was very open about her feelings.
The Marry Me actress said about Winona Ryder,
“I was never a big fan of hers. In Hollywood, she’s revered, she gets nominated for Oscars, but I’ve never heard anyone in public or among my friends say, ‘Oh, I love her.'”
“She’s cute and talented, though, and I’d like her just for looking like my older sister, Leslie,” she added.
Ryder was not the only celebrity she disrespected; a Yahoo report claimed that Lopez had apologized and atoned several times for her comments.
Meet Winona Ryder, The Actress From ‘Stranger Things’
The actress Winona Ryder achieved Hollywood success at a very young age. As she grew older, she began to experience all the difficulties she expected to encounter in her 20s. However, the combination of luck and talent helped Ryder become an actor. The Beetlejuice star was far from interested in a career in the film industry when she was a child. In her memory, Ryder figured she’d end up telling stories differently.
Winona Ryder made her film debut in 1986 with Lucas. Her career skyrocketed in the late 1980s when she starred in Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice, the cult classic Heathers, and Jerry Lee Lewis’s biopic Great Balls of Fire.
Ryder would also revisit the challenges she faced in her 30s in a 2015 interview with Vogue. There, the actress expressed her relief with being able to play characters closer to her age.
She said, “I feel like lately I’ve been sort of liberated into being able to finally play my own age, which has been really nice.”
“Stranger Things” star Ryder not only plays Joyce Byers in the series but also ensures that creators Matt and Ross Duffer maintain 1980s accuracy on set. According to Ryder’s co-star, the Duffer Brothers often changed scripts after fact-checking them.
There’s no doubt that Winona Ryder is one of Stranger Things’ best parts. There are several emotional moments in the show when her character Joyce Byers fights to save her children and those around her.
