Maleficent 2: Footage Brekadown
The Maleficent 2 featurette showed Michelle Pfeiffer’s character narrating the story of the events of 2014s film while reminding viewers of the original plan of Maleficent. Then we cut to the current film where Prince Phillip invites Aurora and Maleficent to the castle where they come across Pfeiffer’s Queen. Marriage is proposed between Phillip and Aurora. The Queen tries to be the mother to Aurora, which anger Maleficent who has been her adoptive mother since sometime.
This footage also had interviews with Fanning, Pfeiffer and Angelina Jolie, explaining the question of the film.
“In the film, we pose the question: is Maleficent good enough to be Aurora’s mother?” Jolie explained.
Fannning stated a bit more in her interview, talking about the “divide” between Aurora and Maleficent.
“Aurora and Maleficent love each other so much,” Fanning said. “But there is a divide between them. Maleficent is still a little wary of the humans, and Aurora is dealing with the burden of coming into this new life to be this cookie-cutter royal, which is not what Aurora is.”
Angelina Jolie will return to reprise the role of Maleficent in the film. The character turned famous in Disney’s classic The Sleeping Beauty animated film. Elle Fanning will return as Aurora and the franchise will be joined by Michelle Pfeiffer and Ed Skrien. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is helmed by Joachim Ronning who replaced Robert Stromberg. The production of the film ended last August.
