The most recent trailer for No Way Home came in recently and gave fans this confirmation that Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland will be going against former Spidey franchise villains. For now, we definitely know that the new film will be featuring Doc Ock played by  Alfred Molina from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, alongside Electro, played by Jamie Foxx from Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and of course, Green Goblin played by none other than Willem Dafoe. The new trailer also featured some more returning villains like Lizard and Sandman, who were played by Rhys Ifans in The Amazing Spider-Man and Thomas Haden Church in Spider-Man 3, respectively.

No Way Home will release next month.

While Ifans and Church haven’t been confirmed yet for No Way Home, one cannot deny that their characters will definitely show up to battle Tom Holland’s Parker. Sony has also released a new TV promo earlier today, featuring some new video footage, including a much-closer look at Lizard.

The video also featured a close-up of Lizard which was followed by JK Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson exclaiming, “Is that a dinosaur?!”

Talking about the return of the old Spider-Man villains, this news broke out officially earlier this year when Alfred Molina ended up spilling the beans while talking to Variety.

“When we were shooting it, we were all under orders not to talk about it, because it was supposed to be some great big secret,” said Molina. “But, you know, it’s all over the internet. I actually described myself as the worst kept secret in Hollywood!” He joked, “It was wonderful … It was very interesting going back after 17 years to play the same role, given that in the intervening years, I now have two chins, a wattle, crow’s feet, and a slightly dodgy lower back.”

As for Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Holland recently talked about meeting the actor during a screening of the film’s trailer.

“It was actually a funny story of when I met Willem for the first time,” Holland shared. “Obviously at that time all of the villains in the film it was a huge secret that they were in the film. So they would walk around set with these cloaks on and naturally you know these guys were very excited to be coming back and bringing these roles back to life that they came to set a week before they started shooting to just see what it was like. Meet Jon (Watts, director), meet myself, hang out on set, and have a good time. I just sort of bumped into this guy in a cloak. I was like, ‘Watch out mate.’ And he took his hood off and I almost got really scared. ‘Oh sh*t, the Goblin is here.’ He was lovely, he was really wonderful. A real joy to work with.”
