Over his long career, Nicolas Cage has starred in a handful of the best action movies and best drama movies around with the likes of Raising Arizona, Face Off, Con Air, and Bringing out the Dead. He’s worked with Martin Scorsese, the Coen Brothers, and Werner Herzog, among the best directors of all time. Still, he’s a man obsessed with cinema, so naturally, he wants more. In a Reddit AMA in which he answered fan questions, Cage gave a list of four directors he still dreams of working with, and the prospect of it already has us excited.

“I would love to work with Christopher Nolan, I would love to work with Ari Aster, I would love to work with Robert Egger and Spike Lee too.” That’s quite the list and includes some of the best directors, and most exciting, still working today.”

Of course, Christopher Nolan needs no introduction, and his most recent film, Oppenheimer, has destroyed the box office while ranking among the year’s top films. Meanwhile, Ari Aster and Robert Eggers are credited with producing some of the finest horror films of the previous ten years. Hereditary and Midsommar were created by Aster, whilst The Witch, The Lighthouse, and the horrifying The Northman from 2022 were helmed by Eggers. However, given that Spike Lee doesn’t currently have any projects in production, working with him isn’t completely out of the question. This implies that Cage would be prepared and willing to pitch himself during the casting process when the filmmaker begins working again if there comes any possibility.

There is a lot of speculation regarding Nicolas Cage’s probable comeback as Ghost Rider in a future Marvel Cinematic Universe project. A GIF on X (formerly known as Twitter) showed Cage’s Johnny Blaze changing into Ghost Rider, adding fuel to the flames. A dependable source, MyTimeToShineHello, responded with enthusiasm and playfully said, “Now that’s a cool fu**ing shot. Glad Cage is coming back,” with the emoji wink. Soon after, CanWeGetSomeToast, another trustworthy source, chimed in with a provocative message, hinting that “The Spirits of Vengeance and their Hellfire will be burning the damned sooner than you think…”, foreshadowing an earlier-than-expected event.

This report first appeared less than a week after MyTimeToShineHello said Marvel Studios has ideas for a brand-new Ghost Rider solo project in the works. But because of the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strikes, this project is now on hold. The planned Ghost Rider production will begin after these labor problems are settled.
