Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman were once a lauded couple in the industry as both stars secured notable positions in Hollywood. However, their marriage of over a decade couldn’t last and they were separated in 2011. After their split Kidman brutally took a dig at her ex-husband by exposing Tom Cruise’s greatest insecurity about his height.

Soon after her divorce from Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman did not hesitate to roast her ex-husband by brutally dissing him. The Mission: Impossible star has captivated audiences with his breathtaking stunts and charismatic performances for decades and is considered a flawless actor. However, Tom Cruise does have some insecurities of which the greatest one is his height.
The Bombshell star appeared on Late Show with David Letterman soon after her divorce in which she did not leave a chance to poke fun at Cruise’s height. The resurfaced video has again found its way to controversy and ignited fans’ interest in witnessing Kidman’s shady words. The Destroyer actress said: “Well, I can wear heels now.” when her split with the Hollywood hunk was being discussed.
Even though Kidman and Cruise did not end up in a messy divorce, her comments on the A-listers’s height generated buzz and earned huge reactions from the audience. Tom Cruise is around 5’7″ (170 cm) tall, marginally below the average height for American men, whereas Nicole Kidman is 5’9″ (179 cm) tall which might have made her look taller than her ex-husband if she wore heels.
Nicole Kidman Claimed Divorce With Tom Cruise Was a Major Shock
Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise’s divorce generated numerous speculations not only among the fans but inside the industry too, as the former couple did not elaborate much on their split. However, The Golde Compass star once reflected on her thoughts about the Top Gun actor. In a 2006 interview with Ladies’ Home Journal, Kidman said:
“That was a major shock…“He was huge; still is. To me, he was just Tom, but to everybody else, he is huge. But he was lovely to me. And I loved him. I still love him.”
However, the actress has moved on and later in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar openly spoke about the scrutiny she faced while the duo was married:
“I was young. I think I offered it up? maybe I’ve gotten a bit more trepidatious, but I’m always trying to be as open as possible. I just prefer to live in the world that way.”
Nicole Kidman is now married to Keith Urban with whom she shares two of her children out of four. The actress is acclaimed for securing a respected place in the world of entertainment and has starred in some of her notable films.
