‘No one from Royal Family actually called Prince Harry’: Prince Harry Reportedly Royally Snubbed By Own Family, Learned Of Grandma Queen Elizabeth’s Death From Internet
The longest-reigning monarch of the United Kingdom, Queen Elizabeth II passed away this month on September 8, 2022. Since then, the conflict between Prince Harry and Prince William has recently drawn a lot of media attention. Perhaps, even more than the news of the Queen’s passing itself. Due to the tragedy, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went back to the UK to attend the Queen’s funeral. However, according to recent reports, the Prince was not informed of her grandmother’s death. In fact, it is being claimed that he got to know about the sad news through media reports.
Prince Harry could not make it to the Queen before her death
On the morning of September 8, 2022, Queen Elizabeth II was placed under medical observation. This was due to concern from the doctors regarding her deteriorating health. Since things were not looking good, Prince William, Prince Charles, and Prince Andrew hurried to be by the queen’s side. However, Prince Harry arrived late and was not able to be with his grandmother in her final moments. According to the royal family’s tweet, the Queen passed away peacefully at Balmoral Castle.
The Duke of Sussex found out about his grandmother’s death online
According to numerous palace sources who spoke to Page Six, Prince Harry learned about the passing of Queen Elizabeth II through online reports. The Prince made a valiant effort to visit his grandmother’s bedside before she passed away. However, he arrived hours after she had already passed away on September 8. According to a trusted insider at Buckingham Palace, King Charles III, had called the Prince to Scotland in the morning. Another palace source confirmed that no members of the royal family or any courtiers ever called the Prince to inform him of the queen’s passing. The Duke of Sussex was left to learn about it from news reports when he arrived late in the day.
Are things going to get better between Prince Harry and the royal family?
Fans and media have been wondering whether Prince William and Prince Harry have patched things up. According to sources from the palace, the two did speak during family dinners and other get-togethers. “There have been efforts on both sides … to sort of making this right,” Gayle King, a friend of the Sussexes told CBS Mornings. The broadcast journalist was in London to cover the funeral. She stated:
“Big families always go through drama, always go through turmoil. It remains to be seen — are they going to be drawn closer together or are they going to be drawn apart? … I have no inside information on that, but I will tell you this: It was good to see Harry standing with his family.”
The death of the Queen has prompted the family members to make an effort toward sorting the royal feud. The Duke of Sussex and his family have tried to warm up to one another, particularly Prince Charles and Prince William. But there have been instances over the past two weeks where the palace’s decision to follow protocol revealed how awkward things still are.
