The Much-Hyped Feud Between Kanye West And Taylor Swift

Kanye West rocked the world during the 2009 MTV VMA when he went on to ambush Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech for the Video of the Year at the 2009 MTV VMAs. The Grammy Award winner was awarded the Video of the Year for her popular hit You Belong With Me in 2009. It all started with Kanye West interrupting her speech and taking center stage. He spoke about Beyonce and mentioned that he was happy for Swift. He said-

“Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!”

Taylor Swift’s fans were furious and wanted Kanye West to apologize. During an appearance on the widely watched show The Ellen Show in 2011, Kanye West broke his silence on the controversy. He said-

“I immediately knew in the situation that it was wrong and it was a spectacle. It’s actually someone’s emotions that I stepped on. It was very, it was rude, period. I’d like to be able to apologize to her in person.”

As reported by TIME via People, Taylor Swift reflected on the much-hyped feud between her and Kanye West. She said-

“Make no mistake — my career was taken away from me. You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar. That took me down psychologically to a place I’d never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.”

This year Taylor Swift took home the best album of the year for her famous album Midnights. She is currently busy with the 2024 leg of her Eras Tour in Tokyo.
