Noah Schnapp Breaks Silence on Recent Backlash Ahead of ‘Stranger Things 5’ Premiere as Actor Returns For a Final Showdown in Netflix Series
Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp addressed his stance on the ongoing Israel-Palestine crisis. The actor had previously expressed his thoughts on the matter in a now-deleted Instagram post followed by some clips that showed the actor with certain stickers. This drove him to the center of a controversy and caused mass outrage on social media. And conversations about boycotting Stranger Things Season 5, which is currently in production, started occurring.
The actor claims his thoughts have been largely misconstrued and addressed the backlash TikTok video he posted Monday night.
Noah Schnapp Attempts To Put An End To The Backlash Ahead of Stranger Things 5‘s Release
Noah Schnapp has landed himself in a tricky situation. Celebrities have political views and vocalizing them on social media often ends up being a mess. And Schnapp’s act of extending solidarity to his “brothers and sister in Israel”, has kept up with the norm.
After facing backlash for months, Schnapp broke his silence on Monday night via a TikTok. The 19-year-old actor said that:
“I feel like my thoughts and beliefs have been so far misconstrued from anything even close to what I believe and I wanted to just state from my heart how I feel. I only want peace and safety and security for all innocent people affected by this conflict.”

Schnapp also talked about the discussions he’s been having with friends of Palestinian backgrounds. Emphasizing the importance of having such conversations, Schnapp commented on how everyone wants “an end to the loss of innocent life in Palestine”.

After Schnapp’s now-deleted Instagram post where he expressed his concern about his brothers and sisters in Israel, he was getting bashed on social media. This outrage only increased when he allegedly liked a video mocking Palestinian victims. This was followed by a clip that surfaced and showed the actor with stickers that read “Zionism is Sexy”. It was a downhill battle from here and boycotting Stranger Things 5 became a big thing.
The Response to Noah Schnapp’s Statements
Schnapp’s attempt at clarification came months after things actually started going south. Word is that Stranger Things Season 5 is in its production stages and will premiere this year. A possibility is that this video could be a crisis management prior to the show’s release.
If so is the case the strategy does not seem very effective, considering netizens are still angry. Here are some of the things they have said on X (formerly Twitter):
