Last year, Bruce Willis announced his retirement from acting last year due to his first diagnosis of aphasia, but he kept motivating his fans. Bruce Willis’ 2018 Speech Video Resurfaced Amid FTD Diagnosis, Fans Got Emotional

In the wake of his devastating diagnosis of aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), Bruce Willis‘ speech video from the 2018 Comedy Central roast has gone viral on social media. There had been several re-posts of the video clip on Twitter by his fans to express their love for the actor.

In response to his disease news, his fans became emotional and reminisced about his old days when he could handle any situation easily. A Twitter user re-posted Willis’ video clip and captioned it, “Peace to tha gawd Bruce Willis and his loved ones.

During his Comedy Central roast speech, The 67-year-old actor was recorded ruthlessly mocked by celebrities, including Martha Stewart and ex-wife Demi Moore. In his 2018 clip which is resurfaced now, he took to the podium and joked that he had overcome threats ranging from terrorists to divorce lawyers to male pattern baldness.

In the viral clip, Willis said,

“Nothing can keep me down; I’ve been attacked by terrorists, asteroids, film critics, music critics, divorce lawyers, male pattern baldness, and none of it stopped me because I’m still Bruce f**king Willis.”

After Willis’ energetic speech, the audience and celebrity guests cheered loudly, with the 67-year-old actor bowing slightly. His rousing remarks received standing ovations, as evidenced in the clip that showed his three daughters, Rumer, Tallulah, and Scout, cheering from the audience at the end of the clip.

How Will FTD Affect Bruce Willis’ Health?

Moonlighting star Bruce Willis withdrew from his acting career last year as he began fighting an illness named aphasia, a brain disorder in which the brain’s areas involved in communication are damaged, causing difficulties with language comprehension and expression. On Thursday, his family released a joint statement indicating that his health condition has deteriorated as he is now diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, widely known as FTD. Symptoms of FTD include personality changes, obsessive behavior’s, and difficulty speaking. It affects the brain lobes behind the forehead responsible for behavior’s, problem-solving, planning, and emotions.

Willis’ diagnosis was made public by his wife, Emma Heming Willis, his ex-wife Demi Moore, and five daughters in a joint statement on The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration website. Apart from Willis’ current condition, they also explained in their statement that FTD is the most prevalent form of dementia among individuals under the age of 60. Willis’ family also expressed their “deepest gratitude” as they received overwhelming support from the public. They sincerely hope media attention will increase public awareness of the actor’s condition. In addition to Willis’s wife, Emma Heming and her two daughters, Demi Moore and her three daughters also signed the statement.
