Eiichiro Oda has shown on countless occasions that he is the best at foreshadowing through subtle instances in One Piece, such as the concept of Haki, Luffy’s connection with Garp, and more. It seems like Oda has done it again, but this time, it involves the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, which has been a hot topic for a while.

For the people living under a rock, Kendrick Lamar released his diss track 6:16 in LA, doubling down his attack on Drake after he released his comeback track Euphoria. There was certainly nothing “euphoric” about the six-minute diatribe, which was scathing and downright brutal. So where does Oda fit into all of this? One Piece fans believe the creator already foreshadowed this vengeful feud between the two rappers.

It all starts with Eiichiro Oda’s Chapter 616 from One Piece titled “Anniversary of Revenge” of all things. Naturally, One Piece fans are in a frenzy trying to connect all the dots, suggesting that Oda might be foreshadowing the battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

The idea does seem a bit far-fetched. However, fans are nothing if not dedicated. X user, @Geo_AW, evidently a One Piece fan, posted the cover page of chapter 616, simply captioning it as “no way bruh”. On the cover page, Rika is training as a waitress in the Shells Town Marine base, while Luffy’s new wanted poster is seen posted on the side of a counter.

More tweets follow, claiming One Piece is the new Simpsons and praising Eiichiro Oda for his foreshadowing abilities. Another X user @wowthatshiphop dives deep into the significance of 6:16 and commends Kendrick Lamar’s skills.

Everyone was looking forward to it, a lyrical battle between two of the biggest names in the rap scene. Although things first seemed mellow between the two, having collaborated on each other’s records during the early stages of their careers. However, as time passed, a flame ignited between the two that couldn’t be doused, especially after Lamar’s feature on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You album.

Lamar threw vocal daggers at Drake and Cole like: “Yeah, get up with me, f–k sneak dissing/’First Person Shooter,’ I hope they came with three switches,” before spewing more venom towards the duo. “Think I won’t drop the location? I still got PTSD/ Motherf–k the Big Three, n—a, it’s just big me.”

Lamar isn’t one to mince words and it is evident from the way he hurled scathing words at Drake, calling him out for using the N-word, questioning his fashion choice, and more in his comeback track Euphoria. He spewed:

Yeah, Cole and Aubrey know I’m a selfish n–a/ The crown is heavy, huh/ I pray they my real friends, if not, I’m YNW Melly/ I don’t like you poppin’ s–t at Pharrell, for him I’ll inherit the beef/ F–k all that pushin’ p, let me see you Pusha T, you better off spinning again on him you think about pushing me/He’s Terrence Thorton I’m Terence Crawford I’m whooping feet.

Whether things come to a blow or not remains to be seen as Drake seems quite content even though he is on the receiving end of Lamar’s vitriol. However, Drake’s cryptic comment during his appearance at Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday Tour stop on April 30 indicated a possible counterattack: “You know what time it is — you know what I have to do.”

Let’s watch how this keeps unfolding before our eyes.
