“Okay really? It’s Mount Mila”: Diehard Romantic Ashton Kutcher Climbed a Mountain Nobody Had Climbed Before Just So He Could Name it After His Wife Mila Kunis
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are considered by many to be the ‘it couple’. The pair, who first met on the set of That 70s Show, has had a beautiful relationship that is 11 years long. Things didn’t take a romantic turn while they were a part of the show, despite Kunis having a crush on Kutcher and them dating onscreen. It was years down the line that the two finally reconnected and built the foundations of a strong relationship. They would forge a bond so strong, that the Jobs star would go on to (almost) name a mountain after his wife back then.
Ashton Kutcher on climbing a mountain
Ashton Kutcher was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition. He had been facing several issues because of the same. To get over these symptoms, Kutcher took a trip to the South Pole (among several other physically straining activities). That was expected to help him tide over everything he had been facing.
While at the South Pole, he stumbled across the opportunity of climbing a mountain. He came across a man who offered him a chance to scale a mountain. The Spread actor willfully consented to the request. And he did manage to do that. He got to the top of the mountain. That is when he realized the perk of his accomplishment.

I name this mountain…
Kutcher spoke of the incident,
“We get to the top and he said, ‘You’re the first person that has ever climbed this mountain. You get to name it.’ I was like, ‘Okay really? It’s Mount Mila.’ And he says ‘No, no, it’s bad luck to name it after another person, so don’t do that.’ “
Sadly for Mila Kunis, the mountain was named after the Russian word for “awesome”, as a homage to the Friends With Benefits actor’s descent. But that wasn’t the headline. The headline was that he got to name a mountain. He recollected, “So I got to name a mountain while I was there. It was wild.”
That must have been one of the biggest moments of his life.
Ashton Kutcher on his health
While speaking on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the No Strings Attached star spoke at length about his medical condition. He said,
“I had a weird autoimmune disorder three years ago. So last year, I was like, ‘I am just going to push myself to the end of my physical capacity in every form.’ “
He continued,
“I went to the South Pole, I ran a marathon, I went Running Wild with Bear Grylls. I was just going to push it as far as I can just to get the self-confidence that I’m fully back, which I am.”
The Butterfly Verdict star’s hard work to restore his health seems to have paid off.
