One Heated Moment From Tom Brady’s Roast That Made Him Stand Up and Issue a Strict Warning Was “real”, Claims Comedian Nikki Glaser
NFL player Tom Brady is regarded as one of the greatest quarterbacks ever. He played for the New England Patriots for two decades before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for whom he played for three years. His past relationship with Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen is also something that often makes headlines for some reason or another.
This time around, it made headlines because of all the jokes Bündchen became the center of at a Netflix roast show in which Brady was the target. While the football player took all the jabs gracefully, there was one particular roast that he could not stand according to comedian Nikki Glaser.
Tom Brady May Not Have Liked This One Joke
Tom Brady agreed to be the target of roasts for The Greatest Roast of All Time: The Roast of Tom Brady, part of the Netflix is a Joke Festival. Kevin Hart and Jeff Ross hosted it. Numerous comedians as well as other famous personalities and his former teammates took their turns at roasting the NFL Hall of Famer.
There is a fine line between roasting someone and actually offending them, and host Ross might have crossed that line. Ross brought up how the New England Patriots selected Brady in the sixth round of the NFL draft. He joked (via The Hollywood Reporter):
“So Tom became a Patriot and moved up to New England, and on the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft‘s office and said, ‘I’m the best decision your organization has ever made. Would you like a massage?'”
In 2019, Robert Kraft was arrested for soliciting prostit*tion in a Florida massage parlor. The charge was eventually dropped the next year (via The Hollywood Reporter). Since Kraft owns the New England Patriots and is a mentor to Brady who seemed uncomfortable with Ross’ joke. He walked up to the ‘Roastmaster General’ and warned him against making another joke like that.
Comedian Nikki Glaser Claims Tom Brady Was Serious About the Whole Thing
Glaser was one of the many comedians at the event and watched everything happen in real-time. The heated moment between Brady and Ross went viral on the internet, and now, Glaser is claiming that the NFL quarterback might have been actually offended.
In an interview on The Howard Stern Show, Glaser claimed that Brady was serious about what he said.
“I believe that was for real. […] And so I was surprised when Jeff made that joke, but I do think that Tom actually was looking out for him.”
Glaser also said that Kraft was not supposed to be at the event. She was not aware that he was an attendee until she got there. On the other hand, in an interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Ross said that he believed the footballer was having fun with him and it was nothing serious. Either way, the roast show went well save for a couple of jokes that might have been over the top.
The Greatest Roast of All Time: The Roast of Tom Brady is available for streaming on Netflix.
