One Piece Taking Over the Las Vegas Sphere is Legendary but at a Great Cost
One Piece has done what other animes can only dream of achieving. The series has been around for decades, and it has no intention of going anywhere anytime soon. One Piece, an anime series created by Eiichiro Oda, is commemorating a significant anniversary this year by turning 25.
One Piece is prepared to take over Las Vegas for a week in observance of the series, and we’ve gotten our first glimpse at the show on the Las Vegas Sphere. Today is the first day that One Piece is taking over the Las Vegas Sphere and it is really something to see.
This week, the sphere—which is currently one of the most famous attractions on the Las Vegas Strip—focuses on One Piece. Toei Animation struck a contract to bring the Straw Hat group to the Sphere for a week, and fans are geeking out over it.
A Special 4-Hour Takeover Will Be Featured At One Piece‘s Las Vegas Sphere Event That Comes At a Cost
The Exosphere will feature Monkey D. Luffy and his mates from Monday, June 10, to Sunday, June 16, 2024. During the weeklong celebration, a 90-second animation spectacle that was made specifically for the Exosphere activity will make its debut. In addition, a special four-hour “takeover” will take place during the Las Vegas event on Tuesday, June 11 from 7 to 11 p.m. (PST).

However, the event comes at a cost, and no, we are not talking about the price of the entire event. The entire Straw Hat team is highlighted in the Sphere presentation, and naturally, we get to see a few up-close views of Luffy. As the reel keeps running, it showcases a mosaic of anime sequences from episodes past to the East Blue arc. Fans are offered a glimpse of the anime’s 25th-anniversary logo as the Sphere ends with a sight of Luffy in his Gear 5 form.

Talking bout spoilers on a 20 year anime that’s is at its height in popularity in the internet age…. Crazy
And all the shows design. No story. No development. No arc. Nothing

Bruh I knew about Gear 5 even before I started watching. In fact, Gear 5 got me to watch it

The 90-second animation also spoils a certain major event of the anime series- the Gear 5 Luffy. Although the animation doesn’t give away anything, as it only depicts the character design, some fans are decidedly not happy about this. On the other hand, this sparked a debate on X as most fans, if not all, are familiar with Luffy’s Gear 5 form by now.
One Piece Continues To Spread Its Wings On a Global Level
The 25th anniversary of the One Piece anime series, which debuted on October 20, 1999, is being commemorated by the new Exosphere festival. Previously, the first One Piece café in North America debuted in Las Vegas, offering food and décor inspired by the popular anime series.
Ahead of its next anniversary, the One Piece series is creating waves across the globe, much like the Dragon Ball franchise continues to do. For instance, in late August, One Piece is teaming up with the Boston Red Sox and Major League Baseball for a one-night-only event.
Additional details about the anime series will be revealed on One Piece Day, which is scheduled for August 10 and 11 at the Makuhari Event Hall in Japan, as well as during this year’s Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California, from July 4–7.
Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu offer streaming access to the One Piece anime TV series and films.
The manga is distributed in English by VIZ Media.
